Denzel Washington pleaded sorry to Quentin Tarantino
Before making it big in Hollywood, the 60-year-old director used his ingenuity to write scripts for movies of other directors. In addition to other notable films, Tarantino assisted the scripting of 1995’sCrimson Tidehelmed by Tony Scott. The movie starredDenzel Washingtonas Lt. Reportedly, a particular dialogue in the script irked Washington and he blamedQuentin Tarantinofor being racist, on the film’s set. Sparking a feud that would go on for another 7 years. During a 2012 interview withGQ,The Equalizerstar let slip his daughter, Katia’s professional association with Tarantino. He said,
“My oldest daughter—I see her digging her independence. She doesn’t like me talking about it, but she’s working with Tarantino.”
Consequently, the interviewer couldn’t help but recall Washington’s long feud with theKill Billdirector. Washington didn’t hesitate to reveal that he had apologized for the allegations long back, in 2002, precisely. The 69-year-old actor disclosed,
“Isn’t that interesting how life goes? But I buried that hatchet. I sought him out ten years ago. I told him, “Look, I apologise.” You’ve just gotta let that go. You gonna walk around with that the rest of your life? He seemed relieved. And then here we are ten years later, and my daughter’s working with him. Life is something.”
Washington’s daughter was working as an editorial production assistant in Tarantino’sDjango: Unchainedand the actor seemed content with how things had evened out between the esteemed personalities.
