Monday, January 20, was supposed to be all about writing a new chapter in the United States of America’s history textbook. As Donald Trump was getting ready to be sworn in as the 47th President of the country, Kid Rock somehow managed to steal the spotlight for himself after he dared to do something absolutely inappropriate on live television – flirt with the reporter.
Robert James Ritchie aka Kid Rock is an American musician and a staunch supporter of the Republican Party. Needless to say, he was available to extend his support for the returning President but little did we know that things would take such a questionable turn.
Kid Rock unabashedly flirts with a reporter
Kid Rock flew all the way to Washington D.C. to perform atDonald Trump‘s Make America Great Again Rally, which took place at Capital One Arena. There, he sat down for an interview withBBC reporterCaitríona Perry and unfortunately, the interview probably did not go how Perry would have thought.
Since the interview did not take place face-to-face, Rock took it upon himself to ask the question, “What about you, what you doing? Where you at?” Perry replied,
I’m standing on a rooftop in these very very chilly conditions. We’ll be on air for 12 hours so I don’t think I’ll have anywhere near as fun a day as you have planned for yourself!
Clearly, Perry had a long day ahead of her, and flirting on the job was probably not on her to-do list. However, Rock did not stop there; he went on to ask her what she looked like. She replied,“I look like I’m ready to hit the slopes here I can tell you. I’m in full-on ski gear here with my hat, gloves, the whole thing, ready to rock because you’ve got to be wrapped up against the elements don’t you.”

Here’s where things got even more shocking. After listening to Perry’s answer, Rock stated that Perry sounded “sexy”and asked her out to go skiing with him someday. In his exact words, “I love to go skiing. You sound sexy, you want to go with me?“
The chief presenter was probably taken aback by the unexpected turn of events. She waited a beat before politely shutting down the question and replying,
Well we won’t get into that right here! We’re doing no skiing here, we’ve got a day of broadcasting to do.

Well, kudos to Perry for handling that with utmost grace. However, it’s moments like these that make us question the current scenario of the country. While this may seem like just another cringe-worthy celebrity moment that would probably be forgotten in the days to come, it speaks volumes about the bold and unfiltered modern America.

After the interview derailed into something that was totally off-topic, it was obvious that the Internet was going to have a field day with it. Needless to say, Rock got absolutely bashed on social media for his bold and unprofessional move.
