Arlong is one of the mostnotorious and sinister antagonistsin the series. From terrorizing the Cocoyasi village to murdering Bell-mère, his deeds are truly unpardonable. Moreover, he left no stone unturned in making Nami’s life a living hell despite her loyalty and sincerity toward him. It was only natural that the fans were hooked to their seats, especially during the iconic fight between Luffy and Arlong in episode 43.
With Sanji and Zoro defeating Arlong’s henchmen, the arc also outlined Usopp’sgrowth and potentialas a sniper. Moreover, Luffy’s iconic and badass fight with the final boss Arlong was much-anticipated. With the Straw Hat captain beating the Fishman to a pulp, fans couldn’t help but cheer on. With Arlong’s defeat, Luffy along with Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp live up to their promise of protecting Nami.

The Arlong Park Arc showcased one of the major and iconic fights in the series, the Baratie Arc was no less. From its well-written characters and legendary fights to the themes of friendships and family, the series is one of the finest works by Eiichiro Oda. It comes as no surprise that the series is a celebrated and loved magnum opus by the author.
