Referring toTom Cruise, who is set to star in a third installment ofTop Gunamidst his busy schedule, he said, “Because with Top Gun you have an actor who is iconic and brilliant. And how many movies he does before he does Top Gun.”

However, he further suggested that they do not need to follow the same approach for thePirates of the Caribbeanfranchise, as he revealed the plans for a reboot.“But we’re gonna reboot Pirates,”he said before adding,“So that is easier to put together because you don’t have to wait for certain actors.”

While the prospect of reviving the franchise with a fresh start seems promising, the statement made by the film producer also implies that along with the cast of the film,Johnny Deppmight also not reprise his role as the protagonist of the film series, Jack Sparrow, something that fans have eagerly awaited for years.
