In Hollywood, trailers and teasers are a powerful marketing tool to inform viewers what to expect from a movie. But even so, there’s a fine line between generating hype and giving away the key elements of the movie. This was the main concern that the audience had when the upcomingDeadpool & Wolverinetrailer revealed Dafne Keen’s involvement in the movie.

However, in a recent interview, Marvel boss Kevin Feige added that he was open to the idea of releasing only one trailer for further MCU projects.
Kevin Feige Is Open to Releasing a Single Trailer for Future Marvel Projects
Ryan ReynoldsandHugh Jackman‘sDeadpool & Wolverinehas already garnered huge anticipation. With several sites claiming that the movie scheduled for release on July 26 will have a debut opening of $160–$165 million at the box office (viaDeadline). But while fans were waiting for the same, atrailerfor the movie revealedDafne Keen‘s cameo in the project. This was not known, given that Keen had denied in several interviews of being a part of the Jackman starrer.
This caused the fans to show their frustration on X, with several of them blaming Marvel for ruining the movie by revealing waytoo muchin the teaser. Now Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, in a recent interview withBlavity TV, has answered the fan queries. Feige added that he’d be open to the idea of releasing a single trailer for further MCU movies. But ultimately, the decision to do so isn’t his. He added:

I don’t know that our marketing department, who knows better and who knows that we have to appeal- not just to the people like ourselves, who watch every trailer and analyze every shot but also the people who are busy doing other things with their lives. We also have to get in touch with them to let them know that the movie exists.
He further added that in the world of filmmaking, there’s a constant pull and push on how much information to reveal before the movie hits theaters. Further, if the directors want to keep the movie’s cameos and surprises under wraps, the marketing team has to bring them forth to generate buzz and attract viewers. This sometimes leads to overexposure in the movie trailers.

Listening to this, fans shared their sentiments on X and tweeted under the Culture Crave (via Blavity) post on.

I like that ideaToo many trailers and you lose the craving of wanting to watch itOr it seems like the best parts are shown
Good. The idea of revealing every single memorable moment of a movie in trailers, to the point where marketing feels like a summary of the film, defeats the whole purpose of watching the full thing

They need to also verify to not show off too much during the trailers. The recent Deadpool and Wolverine showed off a lil more than it needed to. The Spider-Man trailers are the way to go. They maintained a sense of hype without revealing the cameos.
Yes, make one trailer that is so good to make everyone excited to see and rest will be up to your imagination when you finally go see the movie
But despite this, Marvel’sAvengers: Age of Ultronmanaged to keepIron Man’sHulkbuster under wraps in the trailers before its release in 2015. This not only marked a huge surprise for the audience but also demonstrated how a carefully curated teaser can aid the entire viewing experience.

Further, this cautious approach is influenced by the R-rated nature of the originalBlademovie (1998), which hadWesley Snipesin the lead. Feige further added that an R-rated approach is crucial forBladeas much as it’s forDeadpool & Wolverine.
But despite the entire crew working carefully, the project has been facing several hurdles. For instance, Yann Demange, who was helming the director’s chair after Bassam Tariq, has also left the project
