Wild HeartsDirector Takuto Edagawatold 4gamer in a recent interviewthat the team is currently working to address players' current complaints and expand on end-game content such as the recently introducedLimit Break system, as well as add many more new elements for fans to enjoy in the future.
Takanobu Edagawa: We believe it is important to improve the dissatisfactions that players are currently experiencing, as well as expand the post-clear content. In the next update, we will adjust the playability and add many new elements, so please look forward to it.

The Director was very grateful for the fans' creativity in using the Karakuri tools (the most distinctive aspect between Wild Hearts andMonster Hunter), and how they used them in ways beyond the developers' imagination. However, he was also aware of the fans' complaints, such as the need to increase the FPS and improve player comfort (since poor performance affected the imaginative potential of the Karakuri), and promised to work on this down the road.

He also went into detail about the inspirations behind thenew Murakumo Kemono. According to Edagawa, foxes are an essential aspect of Japanese folk tales and fables, and are deeply connected to Japanese culture and beliefs. That’s why the team felt foxes were important for Wild Hearts (which has a more Japanese worldview compared to Monster Hunter) and combined the design with the scattering of cherry blossoms, a tree unique to Japan’s climate.
The same worldview informs the Karakuri, especially thenew Karakui “Spinning Top”. We’ve seen these clever inventions in real life from anime like Beyblade, but they were originally inspired by a more traditional Japanese top called the Beigoma. These classic tops were often decorated with Japanese Kanji letters and made a humming sound when spun correctly. The Director said that the idea to implement this Karakui was there from the beginning of the project, but he just got around to it now.
Last but not least, he also debunked the idea that the release of a “Chery Blossom” themed update in April, or in other words, spring, meant that there might be more seasonally themed updates in store, saying it was just a one-time thing. Wild Hearts is currently set to receive the newDeathhaze Gloombeak Kemono updateon April 20th, along with more limit-breaking elements from the previous update.
