There are pools and then there are plot holes andNarutoisn’t exempt from any of those. With a pool of unanswered questions, fans have pointed out a bunch of plotholes in the series. But that is not the end of it all.

While the series has an interesting power system and a diverse range of characters, it is ridden with criticism. The plot inconsistency is one such example, and with fans’ latest finding, it might just be the worst.
In particular, this has to do with one of the strongest weapons in the series. From its power to its conception, it is daunting in every aspect. But this also leaves room for several unexplained mysteries in the series.

While some call it plot armor or a foil, Masashi Kishimoto may have screwed the pooch yet again. This adds to the fickle and erratic nature of the plot, which renders it complicated in every sense.
Gedo statue and its unexplained mysteries inNaruto
Gedo Statue was introduced during the Pain’s Assault Arc in theNaruto Shippudenseries. It was primarily used to extract the tailed beasts from a jinchuriki’s body. This drained the jinchuriki’s chakra immensely, resulting in their deaths.
As a husk of the ten-tailed beast, the Gedo statue was pivotal in the sealing of all the tailed-beasts’ chakra. For Akatsuki, it was the ultimate war weapon in more ways than one. But there is more to its power than meets the eye.

Aside from being a war weapon, the Gedo statuewas fruitful in its tremendous chakra. Its life force was crucial in helping Madara sustain himself. He eventually harvested Hashirama’s cells using the statue’s abilities.
And though it was eventually sealed off after the war, it left several burning questions unanswered. Particularly, its potential role in sustaining Nagato’s chakra and life force is one mystery that remains uncharted, as fans pointed out.

“He didn’t want to deal with the consequences”: Kishimoto Had to Stop Madara From Using His Most Terrifying Power That Doomed Naruto
Onr/Naruto, Redditors discussed why Nagato never used the statue against his fight with the knucklehead.
While the conclusion points to Nagato’s goals and motives, it also has to do with the plot armor. The incessant use of plot armor and foils makes the plot rather erratic and convoluted. But this isn’t the first time the mangaka left several ends loose.

All in the name of plot armor
Like most shonen series,Masashi Kishimoto’smanga is ridden with plot holes and armor. While plot holes mark inconsistencies in the plot, the plot armor majorly has to do with the power scaling in this case.
Nagato’s use of Samsara in a debilitated state is one such example. The Uzumaki lineage is often used as a plot device that mainly justifies some of the most nerve-racking events in the series.
And while this is one instance, Kishimoto’s series is plagued with plot armor.Guy surviving the Eight Gatesand Sakura punching Kaguya are deemed some of the worst cases of plot inconsistencies.
But that is not all, considering the gross nerfing of characters. While plot armor and plotholes go hand-in-hand, this move wasted some of the most promising and powerful characters in the series.

Overall, it all fits perfectly with the major problem of nerfing characters and underplaying their roles. And though it’s all for the plot, it further complicates things for fans.
