Marvel’s Spider-Man 2is one of the most anticipated PS5 games and the game’s first trailer got us even more hyped by giving us our first look at Venom, who we learned would be voiced by veteran actor Tony Todd.

The originalMarvel’s Spider-Manwas released back in 2018 and broke all sorts of sales records for a PlayStation exclusive, which was followed up last year with the very successfulMarvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales.

Insomniac Games had let it be known that they were working on the full sequelSpider-Man 2and today’s PlayStation Showcase gave us that very first trailer that introduced a horror film icon as the fan-favorite Venom.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2Trailer Information

The first trailer forMarvel’s Spider-Man 2was full of hype, as we see both Peter Parker and Miles Morales fighting bad guys while being narrated by who seems to be Kraven the Hunter.

For anyone that has played the first game and Miles Morales, it was all but a certainty that Venom would also be brought into the mix, which happens at the end of the trailer.

Based on the first game, it would seem that Venom will be Harry Osborn instead of Eddie Brock, but it’s always possible that could be a fakeout. We have no way of knowing for sure at this point, because we only saw Venom himself with the menacing voice of Tony Todd behind it.

Who isSpider-Man 2’sVenom, Tony Todd?

There is a very good chance that you’ve heard Tony Todd’s voice in something over the years, while also not actually knowing what his name was. That is because he has been known for his fantastic voice above anything else, even though he has his fair share of on-screen roles as well.

He made his film debut back in 1986 as Sgt. Warren in Platoon and has been a very prolific actor ever since. Todd currently has 239 actor credits on IMDB, where he is most well known for playing The Candyman in theCandymanfilms. This includes his return as the character in the new film that just came out a couple of weeks ago as well.

Todd has had plenty of on-screen television roles as well, including shows likeStar Trek,Chuck, and more. One of the most recognizable in recent years might be his voice-only role as Zoom in the second season ofThe Flasha few years ago.

Needless to say, there have been plenty of roles that you may have at least heard Todd in over the years. When trying to think of people to voice Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Insomniac could not have gotten any better than Tony Todd.
