Lina was introduced halfway through the second season ofDOTA. Rylai, the Crystal Maiden, tells Davion that Lina is her sister, and she’s the one who can help him find his way in the Imperium. Interestingly, Lina, also known as ‘Slayer,’ is a character in the DOTA Video game. The show states that Lina has a sibling rivalry with her sister Rylai.
According to the game’s lore, Lina thinks their parents created differences between the sisters. Also, Lina lives in constant guilt for doing wrong to her sister. When Lina was a child, she trained with acolytes of the Solar Goddess and learned the art of flames. So, it’s no wonder that Lina’s connection with fire was so strong in the show. In fact, it was strong enough to defeat Slyrak in one-to-one combat.
In the show, Lina was treated differently ever since she was a child, but she made a place for herself in the Imperium. However, she later hired Varani to kill Mirana, thinking that the princess would be the same as the current emperor.
Is Lina Dead?
Everything works out as Lina planned, and she gets the throne through the council’s vote, but she is later killed by Kashurra. In the show, we saw Lina’s body lying on the throne, so it’s safe to say that the creators want us to believe that she is dead. That said, there’s a chance that Lina survived in the end, and if that’s the case, we might see her in thenextDOTAanime season.
