The Joker, as a character, has a very distinctive laugh. However, Hamill is known for adding his own flare to it, making it bone-chillingly perfect throughout all of his appearances. So much so, that he is frequently asked to do it by fans in real life.

During an interview, Hamill revealed a specific instance where he was asked to do the Joker laugh for a kid, and since he does not hold back, many adults were very concerned.

Mark Hamill’s Joker Laugh Is Not Easy

Mark Hamill once gave aWired Autocomplete Interview, where he was asked how he does his iconic Joker laugh. He started by revealing that this is a question he is frequently asked. When he is out and about, fans frequently request that he do the laugh, regardless of the setting they are present in.

I get asked to this. I’ll be in the grocery store. It could be Toys “R” Us. ‘Do the laugh. Do the laugh” Well, first of all you have to warm up. It’s like a car engine. If you just rip, it’ll hurt your throat. And plus, there’s no subtle way to do it.

Additionally, since his appearances as the Joker are all in animated shows made for kids, he is often approached by children asking him to do the laugh. This can be quite a problem, considering the Joker’s laugh is not subtle in any way. Hamill explained that he first has to warm his voice up so that he does not hurt himself.

Considering these aspects, it is safe to assume that the actor has been subjected to some very odd and uncomfortable situations.

So, I’m standing in a Toys “R” Us laughing maniacally and people are like, casting me worried looks like, ‘What’s that old man doing to that poor 10-year-old kid?’ But I get asked to do it a lot.

Naturally, people were very concerned when they saw an older man laughing like a maniac for a younger child, and the entire encounter seemed to have drawn quite a lot of attention.
