Liam Payne’s death still seems like a dream to many fans and associates of his around the world. By now, most of us are probably aware of the events that took place before his demise, but investigators are still trying to figure out what actually went wrong. Was it a freak accident or a suicide? This is something that’s going to be extremely hard to resolve considering he was by himself at the Casa Sur hotel before his death.
Multiple sources have revealed that Payne wasn’t acting normal but rather unusually strange moments before his passing. The singer began acting erratically while he was in the hotel lobby and had to be escorted to his room after which a 911 call was made by one of the establishment’s employees.
But it was too late before the authorities responded to the employee’s concern as he was found dead in the moments that followed. New reports have emerged suggesting that the One Direction alum was under the influence of several hard drugs before tragically falling off the balcony of his room on the third floor.
Recent toxicology report confirms that Liam Payne had traces of pink cocaine in his system
Based on a toxicology report that was obtained by sources,ABCclaims thatLiam Paynehad “multiple substances,” including pink cocaine, in his system at the time of his death. According toNBC, the final toxicology report will not be released to the public for the time being and there isn’t a confirmed date for when it’ll come out.
Moments before the incident took place, Payne was in the hotel’s lobby where he smashed his laptop before being taken back to his room on the third floor. NBC also claimed that the 911 callersaid,
We have a guest who is overindulged in drugs and alcohol and… well when he is conscious he breaks, he is breaking the whole room. Well, we need you to send someone, please.
Nearly seven minutes after the call was made, Payne was found in the inner courtyard of the hotel and was pronounced dead as per Sistema de Atencion Medica de Emergencia’s director Alberto Crescenti.

The Argentina National Prosecutor’s Officementionedthat the 31-year-old suffered from multiple injuries as a result of the fall. His cause of death was ruled as “poly traumatism, internal and external hemorrhage”. Sources also mentioned how Payne wasoverwhelmed by legal issues involving his ex-partner, Maya Henry, but it’s unclear whether that had anything to do with the incident.
What is pink cocaine?
According toNBC, multiple outlets reported that Liam Payne’s toxicology results confirmed he ingested multiple drugs including cocaine, methamphetamine, ketamine, benzodiazepines, crack, and MDMA.
However, unlike what its name suggests, pink cocaine (which was found in his system) isn’t typically made with cocaine and its color comes from food dye. The recreational drug is a mixture of MDMA, ketamine, and methamphetamine, which are commonly found on the streets,accordingto a Special Narcotics Prosecutor for New York, Bridget Brennan.
Sources who spoke toABCrevealed that an aluminum pipe was also found in Payne’s hotel room. It is suspected that an employee of the hotel may have provided Payne with these drugs. Authorities are expected to dive into this soon, but for now, no employee has been charged or arrested.

Fans have been gathering around a tree next to the Casa Sur hotel, where Payne died. People have been writing letters, lighting candles, and singing some of his songs as well. Authorities claim that the body will remain in Argentina until the autopsy concludes (via ABC).
