Can you believe the one year anniversary ofWarzoneis almost here? As of July 11, 2025, players will have been dropping into Verdansk for a whole year, that’s a lot of gulag time.
Warzonehas been one of the most successful Battle Royale games since the launch ofFortnite, and it doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon. With the integration ofCold War, and all of the rumours surrounding a possible nuke event,Warzoneis as popular as ever.
So, as the big day is almost upon us, we thought we’d take a look at 5 predictions we think could happen on the one year anniversary ofWarzone. It’s important to remember that this list is simply predictions, nothing has been confirmed for the special anniversary.
New Operator Bundle
If like me, you love collecting all of the latest and best Operators bundles available, you’re probably hoping for a brand new Operator to hit the store on the one year anniversary. Well, it’s definitely a possibility that Activision gives us a new Operator bundle on March 10 to celebrate the anniversary.
Players have already been treated to fan favourite characters returning such as Soap, and more recently Samantha Maxis. But what characters could return next? There are quite a few options actually, personally, I’d like to see General Shepherd or David Mason make a return.
The inclusion of those characters might not make a whole lot of sense in terms of the story ofWarzone, but it would be pretty cool to see them as playable Operators!
Gulag Redesign
WhenBlack Ops: Cold Warwas released in November of 2020, the integration ofWarzonemeant players were stripped of the classic Gulag showers and given a Nuketown style Gulag instead.
I think it would be a smart move by the developers to have the two Gulags on a rotation, so it’s completely random which one you get. I know a lot of players out there that despise the new Gulag style, myself included.
If theWarzonedevs want to go down the throwback route for the anniversary, we could see the Nuketown Gulag take the sidelines and the classic Gulag Showers make a return.
PreviousCall of DutyWeapons Return
With each update and new season, theWarzoneweapon meta is constantly changing. One week you’ll hop on and everyone will be using the Grau, then all of a sudden the classic M4A1 is back in town. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with, so why don’t we just keep that trend going?
There’s a whole host of fan favouriteCall of Dutyweapons that could still be introduced toWarzone. For example, the UMP45 or the ACR. Two classic guns from the originalModern Warfaregames.
Could the UMP45 hold it’s own against the latest MP7 or MAC-10? Would the ACR dominate the Grau and Kilo meta? These are questions we want answers to!
200 PlayerWarzone
Back in Season 4 ofWarzone, there was a limited-time mode that introduced 200 players into Verdansk, instead of the usual 150. The mode wasn’t the biggest success, but it wasn’t a bad idea either.
We think it’s likely that this limited-time mode could soon make a return with the anniversary almost here.
NewWarzoneMap
We saved the big one until last, a newWarzonemap. All of the recent rumours and leaks are pointing to either a brand new map or a complete redesign of Verdansk. Both of these options would giveWarzonea fresh feel that longtime players have needed for quite some time. Since the game’s release, there haven’t been many new points of interests. The only two major additions were the opening of Stadium and the recent Shipwreck point of interest.
The rumours and leaks are suggesting a nuke event is likely going to occur for the one year anniversary, and will either give fans a brand new map to play on, or a completely bombed Verdansk.
Fingers crossed for a brand new map, but if Verdansk is here to stay we hope it gets some big changes! Let us know what you’d like to see happen for the one year anniversary ofWarzonein the comments below.
