The Crown faction returns for Season 4 ofWarzone 2DMZ, this time featuring some unique missions for DMZ grinders to complete. This faction is exclusive forModern Warfare 2owners, and so progressing through its various tiers can often be more forgiving - knowing that you’ll obtain exclusive rewards in return for your hard work. TheTier 2 Story Mission: X Marks The Spot, however, is quite a cumbersome mission to fulfill - as you will need to unlock a locked room within the Complex.

X Marks The Spot is the Story Mission for Tier 2 of the Crown faction as of Season 4. To complete this mission, you will need tounlock the keypad-locked door in the Koschei Complex Alpha Cluster with an R4D Detector, and thenextract the Koschei Complex Mapfound inside. Fulfilling both objectives will reward you with the Barbed Silhouette emblem, along with 15,000 XP.
To fulfill the first objective of X Marks The Spot, you will need tounlock the keypad-locked room in the Koschei Complex Alpha Cluster with an R4D Detector. Those of you that have completed the missionSpetnaz Exposedshould be familiar with this area, as you had to visit it to secure the Spetnaz Documents. Start by entering the Complex via one of the four Al Mazrah bunker entrances, and thenprogress towards the Chemical Treatment Plant- just as you did forBedrock.
From here,open up the blast door to the Chemical Treatment Plant(you will need a set of Jumper Cables and Car Batteries if you are entering from Rohan Oil or Al Mazrah City). At this point, you will need tolocate an R4D Detector, an item that can be equipped into your tactical slot. Unfortunately, only two of these items spawn within the Chemical Treatment Plant, and they can be found within thehuts to the east and west sidesof the Chemical Plant.
If youcannot find the R4D Detectorsin the locations described above, then you will likely have to fight enemy operators to obtain them. Failure to do so will require you totry again in a separate deployment.
Once you have the R4D Detector,head on over to the Alpha Cluster, the entrances to which can be found on thesouth side of the plant. To unlock the blast doors leading to the cluster, you will need topower the fuseboxbetween the doors with aCar Battery and Jumper Cables- which we strongly recommend bringing in from Al Mazrah.
Once you have powered the blast doors, progress through either one (taking out the Sentry Turrets guarding the corridors) andhead on over to the right side of the cluster. Take out the remaining Sentry Turrets and Cartel soldiers along this area. Here, you will encounter a series of green doors leading to the L2 Restricted Zone. You will also encounter ayellow blast door, whichfeatures a keypad next to it. This is the door you need to unlock for the mission - and is the same locked room in which one of the parts to theHeated MadnessWeapon Blueprintcan be found.
Take out your R4D Detectorandaim it at just above the keypad. Doing so will reveal three letters, each of which translates to a number. This number sequence is the code for opening a locked room. The key to deciphering the code above the keypad is split into aseries of formulas, each of which can be found on seemingly blank chalkboards around the cluster.
There are a total of seven chalkboards around the cluster, but only three will be of use to you.Locate each chalkboardandaim your R4D Detector at them. Doing so will reveal a formula, which should showcase one of the letters above the keypad, along with the number it correlates to.
Once you have deciphered each letter, head back to the locked door andenter the codein the correct order. Doing so will unlock the room, thus completing the very first objective of X Marks The Spot.
Having trouble finding all three numbers? Fortunately,you only need to decipher two of the letters. you’re able to then easily figure out the final number through trial and error.

Extract The Koschei Complex Map
To fulfill the second and final objective of X Marks The Spot, you will need toextract the Koschei Complex Map. The map you are looking for sits just in front of the yellow blast door you opened for the previous objective. Loot this map and proceed to the nearest exfil point - one of which can in fact be located within the Alpha Cluster.
Call in the exfil elevator and hop inside once the doors open. Successfully exfilling with the map will complete the second objective, thus wrapping up the Tier 2 Crown Faction Mission.
