Chucklefish’sAdvance Wars-inspired strategy gameWargroovewassuccessful when it releasedfor PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One back in February. The game has seen a healthy amount of post-launch support thus far, Chucklefish evenbrought the game to PS4, but its next content drop will be the biggest yet. Today, Chucklefish fully unveiled the freeDouble TroubleDLC that brings new units, commanders, a co-op campaign, public and private multiplayer lobbies, and more to the already densely packedWargroove.

Wargroove: Double Trouble’snew campaign was designed to be co-op focused, though it can be played solo. It follows three new Commanders - Wulfar, Errol and Orla - from the Outlaw clan as they attempt to take down a new villain named Vesper. As I mentioned, public and private multiplayer lobbies will become available with this new update. New competitive Quick Play maps and Arcade missions are being added as well. Those who like creating maps will be pleased withWargroove: Double Troubleas well because it brings a ton of new features to the game’s level editor.

To start, there is a new Volcano map theme. Unit modifiers are being added so players can make one as strong or weak as they want, as are metalocators that show where the last action happened on the map. “Gizmos” like levers that can be switched on and off, modifications to the counter system, actions that play sounds, and more slots to upload maps are also coming in this free DLC. If you want to learn more about this stuff and the plethora of balance changes coming inDouble Trouble, you can checkChucklefish’s official blog post.

Double Troubledoes not have an exact release date at this time, though Chucklefish says it is “currently in the final testing phase” so it shouldn’t be too far off.Wargrooveis currently available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch digitally, though it will be getting a physical release for PS4 and Nintendo Switch on October 29.you may pre-order that on Amazon right now.
