A freeupdatefor Valkyrie Elysium was announced duringSquare Enix’sTokyo Game Show2022 Stream. Following the game’s release on September 29, the update will introduce three playable game modes: Hilde’s Vengeance,Seraphic Gate, and Very Hard Mode. The update will be available for PlayStation4 and PlayStation5 in early November, and it will come already included with the Steam version’s release on November 11.

Hilde’s Vengeance is a dedicated mode that will make the mysterious Valkyrie from early trailers playable and will bring back Seraphic Gate, a fan-favorite optional dungeon mode that includes stage modifiers such as time attack and higher difficulties. Seraphic Gate’s inclusion is far from unexpected, as it was included in all previous Valkyrie titles. Those previous games all shared many common characteristics such as fourth-wall-breaking references to the main narratives, powerful bosses, and more recruitable characters. This game was considered the origin of the series, but it was exclusive to PlayStation Portable until now.
