Growing up, I remember playing theFight Nightgames on my friend’s Xbox 360. However, I always hated that such games would never come out for the PC. However, all of that changed when I first heard ofUndisputed.

The game has been in Early Access for a long time and ever since seeing the first gameplay clip, I could sense its potential. A full-fledged boxing game with all the bells and whistles from real boxers, to varied arenas, and a career mode? Available on PC? I couldn’t wait to try it out as soon as it launched.

Cut to when I booted up the game’s 1.0 release and most of it was me enjoying every bout to the fullest. That said, there are some things that you may still be skeptical of withUndisputed. So should you pick it up, or should you pass?

Undisputedis now available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Steam Store.

You Know Playtime’s Over When the Bell Rings in Undisputed

I have had a thing for sports games for as long as I can remember. However, I would be lying if I said that any other sports game has made me feel tension and adrenaline as much as Steel City Interactive’sUndisputed. The game almost always feels like aspiritual successor to theFight Nightgames (which is a plus for me).

The AI is responsive and lifelike. Although the Amateur and Intermediate difficulties feel distinct, both pose a reasonable and enjoyable challenge. The movement and punch animations feel amazing to pull off.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Review – Silence Is Golden (PS5)

The feeling you get when you slip past a punch to evade it last moment to throw a counterpunch gives me chills! I tried a lot of different fighters, a brawny heavyweight like Tyson Fury played very differently than a welterweight like Amir Khan.

The roster is fantastic, however, I did find that some big names are lacking like Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather, and Iron Mike Tyson. However, if you want to play as these fighters, you can use the game’s Create a Fighter option to create a close replica.

Overall, the game’s core is incredibly solid; enough for the developers to add more modes, features, and content in the future. Considering how a lot of the game’s target audience will likely roll over from EA Sports boxing games, they will pick up the most important mechanics ofUndisputedin no time.

Silent Hill 2 Remake: How To Escape the Bug Room In Toluca Prison

I played through the tutorial and jumped straight into the ring. However, as I played through the tutorial, I was mostly relying on my experience fromFight Night Championto survive. It was only then I realized that the game’s tutorial section was a hot mess.

In this day and agewhere fighting games are becoming more popular (and complex), they include vast tutorial sections. These detailed tutorials explain and demonstrate complex mechanics. The tutorial inUndisputeddoes not do a good job with any of this.

Undisputed Allows You To Play Your Way With a Lot of Different (and Fair) Game Modes

After I played through the game’s tutorial, I checked out every single game mode during my playthrough. Firstly, Quick Matches are amazing if you want to practice against the CPU and get better at the game.

For people who seek a competitive playing field, online play is present allowing you to go against random players or friends. However, if going against online players is not your idea of fun, there’s something unique added toUndisputedknown as Prize Fights.

The Axis Unseen Review – An Undercooked Hunting Experience (PC)

Prize Fights are ever-changing dynamic events that one can partake in. They have you go against the CPU with specific fighters, in specific rounds and conditions. There is also a leaderboard for you to climb where you may compare your scores against that of other players.

Finally, there is Career Mode, in which you can either create your fighter or play as any one of the 70+ fighters present in the game. You will begin from the absolute lowest rungs of the game as an amateur boxer and slowly climb the ranks to become the Undisputed Champion of the world.

Modern sports games have been designed to become addictive andUndisputedfalls nicely into this category. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see no Random Number Generators, Slot Machines, Pack Openings, or Microtransactions.Undisputedstands its ground and doesn’t attempt to hook you in by introducing you to softcore gambling.

Is Undisputed Good?

Yes, it is! If you love boxing or want to try your hand at a realistic fighting game,Undisputedcould very well become your next jam! If you enjoyed theFight Nightgames, you won’t be disappointed.

The only thing that will stand in the way between you and a stellar gaming experience is a sloppy tutorial section. Apart from that, there is little to nothing that one can complain of.

If you are up for a challenge or just love the sport then the game will sit right with you. If you have always wanted to know what it feels like to step into the ring without getting your chin bruised, there aren’t many better options thanUndisputed.
