Ubisoft’s upcoming action-adventure game, Skull & Bones, will be the first AAA game published by the studio to adopt the $70 price-tag, the company’s CEO has confirmed.

During a recent interview withAxios, CEO of Ubisoft Yves Guillemot announced that upcoming triple-a titles published by Ubisoft would see a price increase, starting with Skull & Bones later this year. Guillemot said, “Some of the games will come at the same price as the competition. The big AAA games will come at $70”.

Competitors such as Activision, Square Enix, EA, and more had already committed to increasing the price of current-gen games, but Ubisoft hadpreviously statedthat it had yet to make a decision on pricing.

Originally intended to release as an Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag expansion, Skull & Bones will finally hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on November 8th, 2022.. Following its release later this year, players can expect any triple-A title from Ubisoft to have the same $70 price-tag when it comes to current-gen titles.

But if the $70 price point isn’t enough for you, a premium edition of Skull & Bones is also available to pre-order. For the grand old price of $90, players can get their hands on the special edition, which includes the base game, two extra missions, The Ballad of Bloody Bones Collection, a Smuggler Pass token, a digital artbook, and a digital soundtrack.

However, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which was recently revealed at the Ubisoft Forward showcase, will have a price point of $50 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The lower price is reportedly due to it being a smaller-scale game, compared to the likes of recent Assassin’s Creed titles, such as Valhalla.

Digital pre-orders are not yet live for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, but the Ubisoft website does confirm the price point. Fans also have the option to join Ubisoft+ for $14.99 a month to get their hands on Assassin’s Creed Mirage Deluxe Edition on day one.
