Spoilers Ahead For Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts

Who Wins Between The Autobots, Maximals, & Terrorcons?

During the final battle, Optimus Prime and Scourge enter into a 1v1, causing the console to be destroyed in the chaos while Unicron inches closer to Earth through the Transwarp portal.

When all hope seems to be lost, Optimus Prime ends up besting Scourge and kills him, subsequently followed by his efforts to destroy the Transwarp Key. In doing this, the portal begins to collapse, sucking Optimus Prime into the mass. Noah, by way of his exo-suit provided by Mirage, saves Prime from a fatality in a team effort with Optimus Primal, but Mirage appears to succumb to his injuries.

Even though Earth was saved from the world-eating Unicron this time around, Optimus Prime confirms Unicron was not destroyed during the portal collapse, meaning he could return to wreak havoc in a future installment. However, the Autobots and Maximals win this time around.

As Rise of the Beasts wraps up, we see Noah going to apply for a small security job — or so he thinks. Played by Michael Kelly, Agent Burke, disguised as the interviewer, reveals that he knows about Noah’s plight to save the world alongside the Autobots and Maximals and offers to take care of his brother’s medical bills to repay him for his heroic actions. With an ulterior motive in mind, Burke hands Noah a business card implying that he needs him to join a separate group that’s currently in the middle of a war. The business card reads “G.I. Joe” teasing a future crossover between the franchises.

Does Rise Of The Beasts Have A Post-Credits Scene?

Instead of a post-credits scene, Rise of the Beasts has one mid-credits scene that plays fairly quickly after the feature ends, so there is nothing to wait around for after the credits.

In the scene, we see Noah repairing a car that turns out to be a new-and-improved Mirage back to full health. With Noah’s friend Reek (Tobe Nwigwe) in tow for a bit of sarcastic back-and-forth, it’s confirmed that Mirage will likely be on board the sequel.

With little to add to the overall movie, director Steven Caple Jr. doesn’t keep fans waiting long to find out the fate of the Autobot, but it’s the G.I. Joe ending that will have the fandom talking.

G.I. Joe Explained

G.I. Joe is a franchise in itself that began with the release of action figures by Hasbro back in the 1960s, showcasing various members of the U.S. Armed Forces against the opposing Cobra organization.

With each member offering specialized skills in martial arts and weapons handling, the G.I. Joe roster evolved to star main characters Duke, Hawk, Snake Eyes, and many more. Undertaking high-profile missions in the first run withMarvel Comics, the franchise was later published under Devil’s Due Publishing and IDW Publishing before being adapted into an animated series in 1985.

Rise of the Beasts features the first live-action crossover between Transformers and G.I. Joe, as the two have only crossed paths before in the comics.

The 2009 live-action movie, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, saw the producers and writers of the movie confirm that the feature took place in the same continuity as Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

This notion rejuvenated in 2013 when G.I. Joe: Retaliation was released, as producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura stated that he was open to a crossover between G.I. Joe and Transformers, an interest that was later echoed by the director Jon M. Chu in 2017.

It’s clear that the live-action crossover has been in the pipeline for a while and Rise of the Beasts has finally brought it to life.
