The Origins SMP is a fan favourite in the Twitter Minecraft YouTuber space and after a long wait, TommyInnit surprised fans with its comeback!
In February 2021 the Origins SMP was founded byMinecraftstreamersTommyInnitandWilbur Sootwho wanted to create a simple modded SMP that gave each player a different experience from each other whilst also creating a platform for them and their friends to cause chaos together with their newfound abilities. From that, the Origins SMP was born!
With information from various streams, the Origins SMP is being played on the newest 1.18Minecraftsnapshot with only the Pub from the previous server migrating across. Along with the new world generation the SMP is also being played in hard mode giving the players more reason to be worried when entering the new cave systems or to watch their health bar with increased care.
The Origins Mod allows the player to pick an ‘Origin’ which comes with both positives and negatives for the player. An example being the Feline Origin, the positives for the player being that they don’t take fall damage, can jump higher whilst sprinting, has night vision and scares away creepers. However, the negatives are that the player has 1 less heart of life and also has a mining debuff.

With the old cast returning and bringing in a cumulative 2.6 Million views from the 9 members whose streams and VODS of the Origins SMP return last night have been calculated from. It’s safe to say the SMP is a fan favourite and the second season is just getting started and still has new cast members yet to beannounced.
The Origins SMP has had an amazing comeback and fans are excited to see how the next season will treat them, maybe finally getting the Origins SMP lore that was originally promised from their streamers? Or will the SMP fade away again before fans get the chance to see it like last time or one of Tommy’s other ventures, the 30 Days SMP, which didn’t even see out the length its name intended.
