Bleach: Thousand Year Blood WarPart 3 has returned for the Fall 2024 anime season and is making a huge buzz online. Ichigo’s comeback was met with positive feedback, earning widespread applause for its improved animation and refined picture quality.TYBWfocuses on the conflict between the Soul Society and the Wandenreich, a hidden Quincy faction.

With the addition of a new prequel, Tite Kubo introduced many new faces that are even outshining our old cast from the classicBleach. As new characters gain recognition, manga readers are calling for justice for a pivotal character who has been a part of Ichigo’s journey since the start but has been sidelined throughout the story.
The Most Unfortunate and UnderdevelopedBleachCharacter
For decades,Bleachhas stood as thepillar of the Big Threeand is recognized as one of the greats, on par withOne PieceandNaruto.Bleach‘s last episode aired back in 2014. Naturally, many fans felt the anime wouldn’t return, especially when the epilogue felt pleasing.
Bleachrecently marked its20th anniversary, leaving many fans nostalgic with the franchise’s recent official tribute video. In every iconic series, there’s often one character who endures the worst treatment in the anime adaptation, and forBleach, that character is Chad.

Ichigo’s tough kuudere friend Yasutora Sado, AKA Chad, has a stellar personality and a simple but memorable visual design.
He’s one of the most beloved Latino characters in the medium and Bleach, and for good reason. Yasutora Sado, aka, Chad, is the son of a Japanese father and a Mexican mother. He was born in Japan but moved with his parents to Mexico at a young age.

Chad is indeed a “chad,” a confident, manly character who is kind to his friend and tough to his enemies. Sadly, this only plays out in Chad’sfiller-like battles against insignificantvillains who have little impact. Moreover, he was the first character to have Spanish naming much before the Arrancar were introduced.
Tite Kubo has introduced many intriguing characters over the years; however, Chad’s contributions have frequently been downplayed. Throughout the course ofBleach‘s sprawling story, Chad has repeatedly demonstrated his immense strength and combat prowess.

Sadly, despite his undeniable power, Chad has often found himself sidelined or overshadowed, and his contributions to the overall narrative diminished in comparison to characters like Ichigo, Rukia, and Uryu. Undoubtedly, Tite Kubo faces tons of criticism for ruining one of the most important and intriguing characters of the series.
BleachCreator Reveals the Most Complex Character in the Series
Despite being on the good side, many fans still viewMayuri Kurotsuchias an evil character. This is understandable given Kubo designed Mayuri as a complex character who wasn’t timid about his immoral methods. However, this only resulted in some viewersdisliking his beliefs and character.
Interestingly, in a joint interview withMy Hero Academia‘s creator,Kōhei Horikoshi, Kubo opens up about his initial insecurities while designing Mayuri’s character.

After learning about Mayuri being Horikoshi’s favorite character, Kubo talks about the common misjudgment readers have against him.
The mangaka revealed he never planned to portray any of the 13 Court Guard Squads as the bad guys. However, Mayuri’s complex character made the fandom misunderstand his good intentions. It’s a creator’s job tohighlight the complexities of black and whitethrough their work and Mayuri’s character is a testament to Kubo’s beliefs.
