After many rumors and speculations from fans, Xbox finally revealed the next game from one of its most well-known series.Gears of War: E-Daysurprised fans by announcing that it would be a complete prequel to the entire franchise’s story.

Some players received this very positively, but others delved deeper into the prequel concept and suggested a different kind of game. A Reddit user made an entire post describing what they would like to see in a prequel, proposing an angle different from that of the famous COGs.

The user also suggested that the UIR could emerge as the protagonist, following or amidst the renowned Pendulum Wars, a recurring theme in the title’s lore. It has a lot more to offer than the Locust.

Some users agreed with what the author of this post submitted, even saying that the game could add this in a future DLC. Many users concurred that any content featuring the UIR, one of the factions that divided humans, would be quite intriguing.

Fortunately, over the years, the lore of this franchise has become increasingly detailed and solidified. This makes the potential for various narratives incredibly tangible.
For now, Xbox has not confirmed a release date forGears of War: E-Day, but it all points to sometime in 2025. It’s been a while since fans were this excited to try a game from this franchise.

The studio made the right decision by launching a prequel instead of the sixth installment, which will probably come later. This saga will once again reveal two of its most valuable characters, like never before.
