Over the years of Marvel’s reign, there have been more than a handful of projects that have graced the screens of fans. Some canonical, some not so much. Unfortunately, the latter of these two categories oftentimes meet less than fortunate fates if they do not meet the unrealistically high standards set by the franchise. The perfect example of a project such as this is theFreeformseries,Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger, starring Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph.

The series followed the story of Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen, whose lives get intertwined in ways far beyond their own understanding. It adapted two fan-favorite characters from Marvel Comics and managed to gather a fanbase of dedicated viewers. This is why fans were deeply upset when the series was canceled right at the peak of its story.
Despite ending in 2019, audiences cannot seem to let it go and will ask the lead stars about renewing the series at any opportunity they get.

Aubrey Joseph Talks About Marvel’sCloak and Dagger
Aubrey Joseph recently gave an interview withMovieWeb, where he was promoting his recent project,Bosco. Here, he revealed that fans still bring up his time onCloak and Dagger, despite the series having ended almost five years ago. He stated that often, he is approached with questions about where the series lies onMarvel’stimeline and if it is canonical to the main universe.
“Yeah, of course, man. How it ended was super tricky because Marvel was kind of handing over the reins, if you will, to Marvel Studios. But that had nothing to do with how great of a show it was and how dedicated our fanbase was.”

“They still bug me all the time about the show and ask me and Olivia, ‘Please just call Kevin Feige.’ And we’re like, ‘It doesn’t work like that.’ I feel like they’re some of the most unique characters in the Marvel Universe, and there has to be another way to continue telling our story.”
Many approach both him and Olivia Holt, asking them to approach the CEO of Marvel Studios and get something to happen with the series. Unfortunately for them, the franchise does not work like this. Regardless, Joseph added that he would love to see something happen with these two deeply beloved characters, even if they start from scratch. Not only because he has sentimental value towards them, but because he thinks them to be two of the most unique characters from Marvel Comics.

Aubrey Joseph and Olivia Holt Are Still Very Close
Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen start of the series as two complete strangers, who happened to save each other’s lives. However, over the course of the story, their relationship evolves into something a lot deeper and the two become the closest of friends. This is why it is extremely comforting to know that Aubrey Joseph and Olivia Holt are still extremely close, despite the series having ended more than a few years ago.
“She’s great. I feel like we just talked a minute ago,”said Joseph. “That’s my girl… I learned a lot from her. So that’s always gonna be my girl.”
