Dandadan‘s popularity is soaring high with each passing episode and the anime has undeniably become the highlight of this fall anime season. Yukinobu Tatsu’s million-selling oddball manga may have only begun its anime adaptation, but it’s already making a major splash.

After the most anticipated battle between the Occult Duo and Turbo Granny,Dandadan‘s plot is left up in the air. Furthermore, Episode 7 has become the highlight of the Fall 2024 anime season, captivating viewers with its emotional depth and bold themes. From breakneck action turning into a melancholic tale of heartbreak, loss, and despair, Episode 7 left everyone in tears.
Yukinobu Tatsu’sDandadanmirrors a bold move byBleach’screator, Tite Kubo, a gamble that backfired for Kubo but proved crucial forDandadan‘s success.

For decades,Bleachhas stood as thepillar of the Big Threeand is recognized as one of the greats, on par withOne PieceandNaruto.Bleach: Thousand Year Blood WarPart 3 has returned for the Fall 2024 anime season and is making a huge buzz online.TYBWfocuses on the conflict between the Soul Society and the Wandenreich, a hidden Quincy faction.
With the addition of a new prequel, Tite Kubo introduced many new faces that are even outshining our old cast from the classicBleach. In every iconic series, there’s often one character who endures the worst treatment in the anime adaptation, and forBleach, that character is Kon.

Dandadan Episode 7 Review: You Just Witnessed Greatness and We Need a Minute to Process
For part of one episode, Kon was actually sympathetic as a rogue mod-soul who had been slated for destruction through no fault of his own. After getting his Soul candy stuffed into a toy lion, Kon was relegated to a side character, with Tite Kubo making little effort to develop his story further.
Sadly, Kon only got more annoying from there, and not just because of his ridiculous appearance. Kon served no real purpose after that unless fans count his obligatory role asBleach‘s mascot, a mascot no one asked for.

Interestingly, Tatsu’s series shares a lot of resemblance toBleach, and with the addition of Episode 5, the two acclaimed series now even share similarities in their supporting cast, more specifically, the cute mascots.

Episode 5 radically changed Turbo Granny’s arc by putting her inside a model cat. The anime also made the new mascot highly relevant to the main character’s powers and abilities, ensuring Turbo Granny will have a robust role to play for many episodes to come, unlike Kon.
‘That makes the scene hit even harder’: Dandadan Episode 7 Has Broken a Shonen Curse That Has Plagued One Piece for Ages
In every sense, Turbo Granny’s cat form is more meaningful and captivating than Kon. For the time being, at the very least, Turbo Granny compares favorably to Kon, and in that regard,DandadanhasBleachbeat at its own game.
Following Aira’s Backlash, Jiji’s Debut Faces a Risky Start
Tatsu brought the Evil Eye into the spotlight early in the series as a formidable antagonist. The Evil Eye was a Yokai who was bound to the Tsuchinoko sacrificial house, who possessed Jiji and decided to eradicate all thehumans it came across.
Jiji Enjoji,Momo’s childhood friend, unknowingly lived in a house tied to a giant earthworm monster, where a family secretly sacrificed people for two centuries to keep a nearby volcano dormant.
Dandadan Episode 7 Used a Genius Trick to Make the Anime Appropriate for All Ages Despite Having Extremely Dark Themes
Originally, the Evil Eye was a young boy whose entire life was spent in solitude and captivity just to end up being sacrificed to the volcano.
The Evil Eye was introduced as a formidable rival to Okarun, who was a very capable hand-to-hand combatant, skilled enough to take on powerful opponents. However, after becoming friends with Okarun through an exchange of fights, the evil spirit decides to target the boy and become less of a threat to the main cast.
The Evil Eye gradually transitions from an antagonist to a supportive role, captivating readers with his development.
