For part of one episode, Kon was actually sympathetic as a rogue mod-soul who had been slated for destruction through no fault of his own. After getting his Soul candy stuffed into a toy lion, Kon was relegated to a side character, with Tite Kubo making little effort to develop his story further.
Sadly, Kon only got more annoying from there, and not just because of his ridiculous appearance. Kon served no real purpose after that unless fans count his obligatory role asBleach‘s mascot, a mascot no one asked for.

Interestingly, Tatsu’s series shares a lot of resemblance toBleach, and with the addition of Episode 5, the two acclaimed series now even share similarities in their supporting cast, more specifically, the cute mascots.
Episode 5 radically changed Turbo Granny’s arc by putting her inside a model cat. The anime also made the new mascot highly relevant to the main character’s powers and abilities, ensuring Turbo Granny will have a robust role to play for many episodes to come, unlike Kon.
