Shadow of the Erdtreepromises to be a unique experience for allElden Ringfans. The expansion is now less than two weeks from release, and fans are still theorizing what we will see once it’s available to play.

Dragons may fly back in Shadow of the Erdtree.

The recent trailers and gameplay reveal have given us a better look at Hidetaka Miyazaki’s upcoming project, but they’ve also stirred the pot of possibilities. One such possibility might be bringing back a boss category that made for some of the most cinematic fights in the base game.

Shadow of the Erdtree Might See the Return of Some Winged Foes

Knights, castles, trolls, and magic are some of the staples of the fantasy genre. But this list is incomplete without mentioning dragons. The Tarnished will have an inevitable clash against them, be it the Flying Dragon Agheel or Dragonlord Placidusax.

Some fights are better than others, but there is no denying the grandiosity of each clash against these enemies. They add a new dimension to the combat as well, as not many bosses in the game can take to the skies, and the ability to wield elemental attacks makes them that much more formidable. Some, like Lannseax, can swoop in for an ambush boss fight.

We may get more of these fights inShadow of the Erdtree. The recent gameplay reveal videos have given us a better understanding of the world. One detail, shared by an NPC named Egon (or Igon), stands out. As we know,we are not alone in the Land of Shadow, with many of Miquella’s followers on his trail, and one of them is at odds with a dragon.

The NPC can be encountered on the eastern part of the map, where the player will probably hear his screams before spotting him. He is swearing revenge against a dragon named Bayle, who is the cause of his torment. We don’t know more about this dragon, and there hasn’t been mention of it in the base game either, so it remains to be seen if it is a major boss in the DLC.

A new realm to explore and new mysteries to uncover.

Elden Ring’s DLC to Offer a Ton of New Content

Miyazaki has already confirmed that the DLC is the biggest expansion the studio has worked on yet. With an average playtime of 30–40 hours, it will have more content on offerthan many AAA titles on the market. The hype for the DLC is only growing as we get closer to the release date, and it’s already being touted as an award-winning add-on.

He has praisedWukongfor the look, design, colors, and sense of style that have set it apart from its competitors. The game was first revealed in 2020, so it’s been a four-year wait for those who have wanted to get their hands on the title.

From understanding the complexities of a multilayer narrative to the simply joy of “big gun go boom”, my goal is to capture all the emotions in between and put them down in an engaging manner.
