One Piecehas been one of the most massive successes in almost every single field: be it in the manga world or the live-action adaptation one. Just like the manga garnered tremendous responses from fans, so has the recent live-action adaptation series based on the manga released on Netflix. But one field that the superhit manga has lately been lagging on is the anime one.

However, fans can expect that too to be perfected soon as, following the immaculate success and appreciation the recent live-action adaptation series received, Netflix is now working onThe One Piece: its very own and better than ever before anime that aims to erase one long-standing criticism of Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus with a remake by WIT Studio!

When theOne Piecemanga gained momentum among fans right in its initial years, less than three years later, it earned its rightful position in the anime industry as well. With Toei Animation taking the lead as its producer, the anime TV series adaptation first premiered on Fuji TV in 1999, and… well, it has been going on ever since.

That being said, the anime has a total of 1088 episodes as of this writing and it isstill ongoing. Because of that along with the poor animation of the earlier storyline of the anime, the series was met with immense criticism from manga and anime fans worldwide.

However, that seems to be heading toward a change now with Netflix reportedly working on a whole new adaptation of the manga, which will be titledThe One Piece. And thiswill bedifferent than ever before because: firstly, the anime will be starting from the iconic East Blue saga, and secondly, WIT Studio will be the one producing it! Thus, from all of this, one thing is for sure: this upcoming anime will not have any bad animation problems like the anime adaptations before—something that has been one long-standing criticism ofEiichiro Oda‘s magnum opus.
