The Last of Us Part 2has done pretty well for itself, hasn’t it? Not only was it the third highest-grossing game ever on PlayStation in the US selling over four million copies inits first weekbut it continued to delight fans around the world by implementing a newgrounded modelast month where players could experience permadeath and unlockable modifiers to change things up in how they play the game. But what I think really definesThe Last of Us Part 2isn’t just its gameplay, it’s the fandom and how far dedicated fans go to show their love for this incredible title. I’ve harped on in previous articles about how intricate and time-consuming cosplaying really is but to show us how much is actually put into this activity, check out this brilliant cosplay of Ellie and the Clickers fromThe Last of Us Part 2.
If you’re aLast of Usfan here at DualShockers, you may rememberthis articleof Nieke who portrayed the formidable Abby in her fierce cosplaying adventure. This time, photographer Carlos Adama from London is back again with more of his shots but this time the focus is on Ellie. As you can see fromCarlos' incredible photographyskills and Ellie (played byopal.ink.cosplay) who does a fantastic job at stepping into the shoes of the game’s protagonist, the scene is dripping with atmospheric tension as Clickers approach Ellie who is hiding beside an abandoned car, just like you’d see her do throughout the gameplay.
Some of Carlos' other shots showcase Ellie being surrounded by two Clickers but as she’s equipment with her trusty switchblade, there’s a good chance she’ll make it out of it alive. Another image depicts Ellie running up some stairs being closing followed by more Clickers. This shot by Carlos is probably my favorite due to the amount of work that’s obviously been put into this particular scene. We can see some spores flying around as well as the haunting red hue from the bottom of the steps giving this image a really intense and heart-thumping moment. In a fanmade film made bySamuel Triggsthat includes the cosplayers from Carlos' photo-shoot, we see a fantastically produced video highlighting the road of vengeance that Ellie takes. The cosplayers and some amateur filmmakers from all around the United Kingdom who have a passion for projects andThe Last of Us Part 2, all came together for one day only to film this profound and compelling sequence of events. Throughout the short film, Joel and Ellie make their way around an abandoned building surrounded with clickers and we even see Abby making an appearance too with it then ending in a fight scene between Ellie and Abby that cuts off in anticipation for the filmmakers part 2.
