Included in the roster, alongside returning characters Winston Scott and Charon, is the former’s older brother Frankie, whose opening decision set the overarching plot of the series in motion. Here’s everything you need to know about Frankie and the actor who plays him.
Who Plays Frankie In The Continental?
Frankie Scott is played by Ben Robson in The Continental, however, his character is not involved in the John Wick movie series because of the events that unfold within the prequel show.
English actor, Robson, has had a relatively short career since his debut in the 2009 short Dreams Play Apart. After a second short, Everything Carries Me to You, in 2011, Robson received his first feature-length role playing Lucian in the 2013 movie Dracula: The Dark Prince. Robson then portrayed Cole in the 2016 horror The Boy before picking up a recurring role playing Kalf in the 2015 series Vikings for 13 episodes. Alongside performing in 2019’s A Violent Separation and 2020’s Emperor, Robson also found his longest role to date in 2016’s Animal Kingdom, where he played Craig Cody for 75 episodes.

Robson is credited for being in two episodes of The Continental, where he played Frankie as a main character, and the show’s first episode involved a high-octane action sequence that Robson had to prepare for through a series of training sessions. Speaking toEW, action director Larnell Stovall explained the intensity of Robson’s training:
“Without exaggerating at all, I believe Ben might have had three weeks of training to get ready for a sequence like this. He gave it all concerning how to handle his gun work, how to maneuver in a tight stairwell, remembering the choreography.”

Frankie Set The Ball Rolling For Cormac’s Downfall
Episode 1,Night 1: Brothers in Arms, introduced viewers to brothers Frankie (Ben Robson) and Winston (Colin Woodell), who are later revealed to be working for NY Continental hotel chain owner, Cormac O’Connor (Mel Gibson), who is considered to be a gangster of the city that the police turn a blind eye to. The show’s opening shows a younger Frankie and Winston being held by the police, and a later scene explains that Winston threw a Molotov cocktail through an apartment window in this scene, killing those inside, under Cormac’s orders.
In the present day, Frankie is orchestrating a robbery at the Continental, gunning to steal a valuable coin press from Cormac’s safe that’s used by the High Table to mint gold coins. After being betrayed by his partner, a gunfight breaks out in the hotel, leaving several guests killed and Cormac’s men hot on Frankie’s heels, but he manages to escape thanks to a getaway car. Cormac later captures Winston to find out where Frankie is, but Winston reveals that his brother has been estranged for years. Once Winston finds his brother, we learn that the Scott family is indebted to Cormac for a loan, which is why Frankie and Scott previously did his bidding. It was also revealed that Frankie abandoned Winston in order to give him a better shot at life and distance him from a path of crime.
Winston, Frankie, and his wife Yen (Nhung Kate) are then targeted by Cormac’s hired killers, Hansel (Mark Musashi) and Gretel (Marina Mazepa), which forces the trio to escape via helicopter. However, before they can make a run for it, Yen is shot and Frankie decides to sacrifice himself in order to let Winston and Yen escape. The following episode,Night 2: Loyalty to the Master, sees Frankie’s body being incinerated before NYPD detective KD (Mishel Prada) can find him. KD was previously warned not to interfere in this business, but she pursued the trial anyway.
Despite Frankie’s part in the prequel series being short-lived, his notion to steal the coin press from Cormac and sacrifice himself to let Winston escape allowed his younger brother to put his plan in motion to kill Cormac and take over the Continental hotel, to finally put a stop to his ruling over the Scott family. Winston was later able to gain an inside man in Charon (Ayomide Adegun), Cormac’s loyalist, and enlist the help of Lou (Jessica Allain) and his father’s friend to carry out his endeavor.
