God of Warhas been renowned for its brutal combat, epic boss fights on a monumental scale, and mythology. The developers would naturally take from the source material for inspiration and made it a priority to faithfully capture what the myths were trying to convey.

The developers made the gaming community work for it in the highly anticipated sequel.

The gaming community would not hesitate to experience the end of the Norse Saga for a second time, which made the New Game+ feature an inevitability. However, some players failed to comprehend that it was never meant to be a direct recreation of their first run.

God of War Ragnarok New Game Plus Is Way Harder Than Fans Thought

Santa Monica Studiogave Kratos and Atreus a great journey to work on their trust in one another and gave the fans the experience of a lifetime. The boss fights vary in difficulty, some bosses are harder than others andthe fight against Garm in Hel is a standout moment inGod of War Ragnarok.

The end of the Norse Saga was a long time coming and the developers wanted everything to be on point. Fans begged for a New Game Plus mode to redo the entire story on a higher level with better gear, unfortunately, some failed to realize that gear and skills can only take them so far before they are humbled by the improved enemy AI.

Doing the main objectives will most likely guarantee a player to receive decent loot, but there are other ways to gain better gear at a faster pace by doing side quests. Some players disregardthese activities which will probably ruin the pacing, they may have progressed the story faster but have awful gear in return.

It may be a skill issue and this is a problem that cannot be solved on the side of the developers. There are other options for difficulty that can better accommodate or cater to a player’s skill level and one could always play it on the easiest difficulty.

The Gaming Community Needs to Adjust While Playing God of War, Not the Developers

The franchise was never known for its difficulty but this soft reboot featuring Norse mythology is getting there. The original creator intended for the playersto play like a monsterand be more of a hack-and-slash game which is a far cry from what it is today.

“Just now realizing how easy Kratos…”: If Not for 2 Small Things, God of War 2018 Would Have Started and Ended with the First Baldur Fight

People get desperate which could be an explanation for the increased resilience of enemy factions. Perhaps players should not be quick to blame others for their shortcomings and do their part by training and grinding like others.

It was never meant to be as easy as the first playthrough and that would break immersion, Kratos may be under levelled and underpowered at the start which is how the game is designed and grows more powerful throughout the campaign.

God of War Ragnarok is not for casual gamers looking for a good time.

The developers wouldn’t give the gaming community overpowered gear that can decimate the enemy because that would be too easy. Kratos and Atreus endured many threats and did their part with training.
