Following all these trolls on social media, the rapper/singer comes up to defend himself that in no way is he trying to mock Jesus. The 24-year-old is known for giving references to religion in his works. Despite his self-defense, people now show less interest in buying his upcoming single.

Lil Nas X took toX, formerly known as Twitter on Monday (8 January) to unveil the title and cover for his upcoming song,J Christwith a caption that goes saying: ‘”MY NEW SINGLE IS DEDICATED TO THE MAN WHO HAD THE GREATEST COMEBACK OF ALL TIME!”

Soon after, criticism started pouring on theOld Town Roadperformer, and then he decided to give it back in his style.

“The crazy thing is nowhere in the picture is a mockery of jesus,”Lil Nas X – real name Montero Lamar Hill –tweetedan hour after the reveal.

“Jesus’s image is used throughout history in people’s art all over the world. I’m not making fun of s***. yall just gotta stop trying to gatekeep a religion that was here before any of us were even born. stfu.”
