Nightdive Studios’ cyberpunk-style sci-fi shooter title,System Shock, which is a remake of the 1994 game of the same name, was a massive success when it was released in March last year and received mostly positive reviews from fans and critics alike.

However, the game was only launched for PC, and console players have been patiently waiting for the developer to release the console version. The developer has now announced that the console version of the game finally has a release date, and players do not need to wait much longer.

After the PC release, developerNightdive Studiossaid that the console version of the game was“running smoothly”and would be released for the platforms“in due course”and has finally announced the launch date, making the fans excited to explore the world of the year 2072.

Developer Nightdive Studios and publisher Prime Matter released a trailer for the console version of theSystem Shock Remakeand revealed that the game would be hitting consoles on May 21 this year. The game will be released for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Additionally, it will only be available in physical versions for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and will be released in digital-only versions on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The trailer showcased immersive HD visuals, exciting gameplay, and brand-new music and sound in the game.

The game will feature several improvements, including an expanded ending and an option for a female hacker protagonist for the players. Moreover, the game will also have some exclusive features, as it will have 4K visuals with 60 FPS on the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The game also features a reworked ending, an overhauled interface, and control updates.
The Cyberpunk-Adventure Title Has Received Critical Acclaim
The game was released in March 2023 and opened to positive reviews from both fans and critics. For the unaware, the game is set on Citadel Station, a space station that has been taken over by an evil artificial intelligence called SHODAN. The story sees players take on the role of an unnamed hacker trapped aboard as they explore the station and try to shut down SHODAN.

The game features non-linear objectives with first-person shooter and puzzle-solving mechanics and several types of weapons and ammunition that interact with the game’s environment and enemies in distinct ways, making the experience unique and exciting. The remake has been loved by fans and currently has more than 72% positive reviews on Steam and sits on 78 Metascore on Metacritic.
The original game was released in 1994 and also had a large community, and the remake has done the same, boasting immersive visuals and sound effects that appealed to both new and old players. The upcoming console release of the game will only enhance the experience with the new ending and other features, including quality-of-life improvements.
