Ever sinceSuperman: Legacywas announced, fans have speculated on what the film could be about. Starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, there has been some teasing about the film staying more true to its source material and being a more light-hearted take on the character. However, concrete details about the plot are yet to be revealed by DC Studios.
That was until the logo the superhero would wear was shared with the entire world. What has been revealed may not seem much different than the one Superman has worn in all his versions, although, there is one key difference.

In TheKingdom Comearc, the world that Superman exists in is dominated by superpeople who are predominately bad. The plot element that makes it stand out is the fact that Lois Lane dies in the story. With the grief of the passing of his loved one and the realization of how truly bad the world he lives in is, Superman isolates himself.
This becomes so severe that the only way he is brought out of his self-imposed exile is through the Justice League asking for his help after an even more terrifying threat comes to haunt the world. While it is unlikely that the story ofSuperman: Legacywill follow this exact pattern, the world that it exists in could be similar and the general plot could follow a similar pattern.

It would be possible that after learning everything he did from his father, Jonathan Kent, Clark Kent could be trying to become the light in such a dark world. In his pursuit of this, Superman gets focused on the wrong things and ends up missing the death of his father, something that would shake him to his very core.

So much so, that Kent could isolate himself, perhaps even hanging his cape and focusing on his human life and meeting a reporter called Lois Lane. That would be until the Justice League calls upon him to come back and be the beacon of hope that he is.
