You may like to be really up close and personal, but find the option of ranged attacks to help escape to be something you really enjoy in your kit.

Guile’s Strengths In Combat

Guile is a brilliant Zoner, and his Sonic Boom is as iconic as ever.Use your Sonic Boom to put pressure on opponents whenever it is safe to pull off. It has a fast recovery time, and when you and another player are just taking potshots at each other, the odds of success are in your favor.

Many characters are great at shutting down other characters' projectile game, but Guile still gives them a run for their money, every time. Guile also has somegreat anti-air optionsto shut down those that try to come from above. Overall, Guile is a brilliantpick for those that want range and to play the mid-range gameagainst their opponents.

Guile’s Weaknesses In Combat

Guile doesn’t truly suffer in any area;you are going to put up one heck of a fight from start to finish. He will not be seeing giant damage numbers all at once like some of the other characters are able to pull off, but that is because Guile just operates differently.

He will need you to cater to his way of performing optimally —good thing he is a very easy character to pick up.If Guile has one true weakness, it’s being stuck in the corner. He is by no means defenseless, but it is not a good place to be when your opponent is relentless.

Guile’s Best Moves & Strategies

Dealing With Long Range Opponents

Remember that part about havingslower-moving Sonic Booms? This is the time to use them. If you send out a slow-moving Sonic Boom, you are able tofollow behind it and help close the distance between you and your opponent. However, this is only recommended if your opponent seems to be better at the zoning game than you, which means they are also most likely playing Guile. If they are not, thenjust keep the distance between the two of you and hammer away at their health from range.

Dealing With Short Range Opponents

Keep characters like Luke as far away from you as possible.Keep using your specials to hit them away from you, andavoid getting caught in the corner— it can be devastating to your health.

Stuck In The Corner

Guile does not do well in the corner.Your best bet is toSomersault Kick an incoming air attack, but using Sonic Booms, Sonic Blades, and Sonic Cross can helpput some distance between you and your opponentuntil you canSuper your way out.
