The idea of Dwayne Johnson playing the role of Jack Frost in a remake does sound scary to fans of the original film because the Christmas fantasy film has a lot of memories. Though the film did not resonate well with the audience or the critics asRoger Ebertmentioned,“The snowman gave me the creeps. Never have I disliked a movie character more.”Regardless, the movie still managed to gain a fan following and became one of the Christmas special films.

George Clooney Was The Initial Choice ForJack Frost

Though Michael Keaton played the role of Jack Frost in the 1998 film, which narrated the story of a father who couldn’t keep his promise to his son, he returned as a snowman after a year to make things right with his son. However, the role of Jack Frost was initially offered to George Clooney, who had even signed for the project but later backed out.

The actor’s absence was immense as he was meant to play the role of the snowman, and the features had already been created by the visual effects company, Jim Benson’s Creature Shop.During an interview withLA Times, Matt J. Britton, the general manager of the Creature Shop, said that they would try to improvise the figure on the set to create a facial structure that resonated with Michael Keaton’s facial structure.

“Once it became Michael Keaton, we didn’t change the head completely. We did some signature things to the chin and to the lips because Michael Keaton has this little mouth and talks out of the front of his mouth.”

Jack Frost (1998)can be streamed on Hulu.
