The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the People’s Choice Award. Flanagan shared in avideoto TIFF that he was completely overwhelmed by the recognition. He shared that he was“unprepared for the moment”and thanked TIFF for bringing the film to the audience.
The pattern of TIFF People’s Choice Award winners getting an Oscar nod has got fans of King excited. According toComicBook, the odds look pretty good forThe Life of Chuck, as 15 TIFF People’s Choice winners were nominated for Oscars in the last 16 years. Out of these 15, five of them went on to win the prestigious award.
