Starfield is full of different factions for players to join. Here is a ranking of them all.
One important call you will have to make is where to build the Armillary. This can be done either on your ship or at a certain Outpost that you have built. Here’s a breakdown of each option and which one is the best.

What Is The Armillary?
The Armillary is where you place your Artifacts that you have collected. It is the giant floating orb in The Lodge that holds each Artifact and moves to encompass the more Artifacts that you bring to it. Considering The Lodge was attacked due to it holding the Artifacts, anywhere you build the Armillary is going to be attacked. So keep that in mind as you consider your options.
Should You Build The Armillary On Your Ship?
If you build the Armillary on your ship, it will attach to the Ship’s Grav Drive.This means that if you are attacked for the Armillary, you can easily Grav Jump out of the area and keep the Armillary safe.You are also always going to be near your ship if it gets attacked, meaning you will be able to keep it safe. You also won’t have to pay anything to build it on your ship. You also won’t need items to build it like you do for Outposts. You can easily just approach the Armillary screen and select that you want it built.
Make sure you havea great shipif you decide on this option. The Stronghold, Narwhal, Crimson Fleet Reaper III, Space Ox, and Dullahan III are all great ship options for keeping the Armillary safe.Overall, this is probably the best option for most players who are doing a normal playthrough of the game.However, you may want to consider the Outpost as well.

Should You Build The Armillary In An Outpost?
If you build the Armillary at anOutpost, you will have the option of deciding where to place the Armillary.However, when the Outpost is attacked (because it will be attacked), you will have to rely solely on those at the Outpost. You could be across the galaxy when the attack happens. You will also need a ton of resources if you want to build an Outpost with enough defenses to keep the Armillary safe. While the Armillary only needs3 Neodymium and 5 Titanium,the Outpost itself and the defenses will need a lot more.
However, if you do a lot of Outpost building and have spent time investing in Outposts, you may want to consider an Outpost rather than your ship. This all comes down to the work you have already put into a specific Outpost. You will want to make sure that you have a great group ofcompanionsthere to guard the place.
