For those free roaming the galaxy and seeing all it has to offer, every random encounter is worthwhile. Some of the larger side quests will require players to first find a random encounterto loot an object off a dead spacer, such as The Mantis quest.

Random Encounters are also useful ways to find enemyspaceships to fight should the icon be in orbitover the planet and the player be trying to upgrade theirpiloting skill. While these encounters do range in the amount of time they take to complete, just about all of them will have the playerwalking away with something new that they didn’t have before.
