The PlayStation VR2 has been out for exactly a year at this point and has seen much success since the launch period. Despite the expensive price point, it was still a worthy successor of the original PSVR back in 2016 which served as a counterpart for the PlayStation 4.

The same dynamic is clearly present with the PS5 and PSVR 2, Sony is pushing for the symbiotic relationship of their hardware as they increase their focus and output of hardware and other accessories.
Sony’s PlayStation VR2 has games for all ages
A plethora of first-party titles were developed and upgraded solely for the PS VR 2, Guerilla Games and Firesprite Games took full advantage and releasedHorizon Call of the Mountain,a spin-off of theHorizonfranchise.

Polyphony Digital gave a free update to their simulation racer gameGran Turismo 7which players were able to truly feel as if they were on the race track and their hands on the wheel. The hardware continued to receive a lot of support from third-party developers who are actively porting their titles and ensuring top quality through optimization.
Sony is a big believer in immersion being a major factor in how a player perceives a game, and in doing so giving the players far more freedom and control. According to a recent blog post, several titles will make their way onto the platform relatively soon.

City builders likeLittle Cities: Bigger!makes perfect use of the virtual reality controls by allowing the player to manually build, another great title that originated from Steam, The Wizards – Dark Times: Brotherhood is coming to the PS VR2.PlayStation isn’t shying away from collaborationas they continue to work on placing more games from the PC space in the near future to bolster the library and provide a more diverse catalog.
Regardless of how powerful the hardware is, it wouldn’t matter if there were no games to play with. Sony knows this and rather than squeezing their first-party studios to pump new IP or create spin-off titles based on established titles, they are open to multiplatform support. The decision to do so was quite impressive and gave them a strategic advantage.

Sony’s plan for the PS VR2 and beyond
The direction has been clear as the hardware can also support native PlayStation games which makes it a great option to play games on VR. With more games being developed and third-party support coming, that is a good reason to pick one up and remain future-proof.
Games with different genres and target audiences will benefit from the hardware, Sony’s goal is to provide an immersive experience.

PlayStation Studios will surely work on developing first-party AAA titles in the following years which will ensure the relevance of the hardware, and as they continue to test other VR titles and more software updates that will improve the performance.
