Segahas reportedly sent a new email toSonic Frontiers' players, revealing that the game’s first major expansion “Sights, Sounds, and Speed Update” will be released on March 23. As previously announced, the first DLC will include a Photo Mode, a Jukebox, and a set of new challenges.
As you may already know, Sonic Frontiers is supposed to receive three post-launch expansions, all of which will be available for free to all players. The upcoming DLC will not include any story-driven content as far as we know. Based on the game’s roadmap, the second expansion will introduce a new playable character, and the final DLC will bring a new story to Starfall Island. If Sega makes no change in plans, we can expect an official announcement for the first major update soon.

As the very first title in the series with an open-world approach, Sonic Frontiers has been quite successful in satisfying the fans for a fresh experience in the franchise. The fact that Frontiers was released on a wide variety of platforms including PC as well as current-gen and last-gen consoles was also a huge contribution to its stellar sales.
All three expansions for Sonic Frontiers are set to be released this year. The second DLC doesn’t have a release date yet, but it includes a Sonic’s Birthday event, which might be a hint at a possible launch on Sonic’s anniversary date.
