Enomoto revealed that his transition to storyboarding for this episode presented him with an immense challenge. While the manga chapter involving Acrobatic Silky’s memories was relatively short, the anime director ofDandadan, Fūga Yamashiro, desired a deeper dive into her character. Enomoto took these expanded ideas and carefully adapted them into storyboards that conveyed the depth of the story. However, Enomoto revealed,

I drew the storyboard with director Yamashiro’s ideas in mind, but to be honest, some of them were quite difficult to work with, and I was worried whether I would be able to complete it or not.
Kōtarō Matsunaga, who was also presented in the interview, recalled his reaction upon seeing the scene claiming that they both were unsure about how to execute this properly. The decision to focus heavily on Acrobatic Silky required advanced animation techniques to capture thecharacter’s emotional and physical turmoil.
