How to Get the Chainsaw in Silent Hill 2
Once you’ve initiated your first New Game Plus run, you can proceed to the next section of theSilent Hill 2map after navigating through the cemetery and engaging in the cutscene dialogue with the little girl at the beginning of the game.
After exiting the cemetery, you will find a sign on the left side that says, “Silent Hill Ranch.” From the very beginning of the game, if you look on the opposite side of the ranch sign, you’ll see the Chainsaw stuck in some logs.

One of the main characteristics of the Chainsaw is that it will kill almost any enemy with a single hit, without hesitation.
One detail you’ll notice when using the Chainsaw is that it doesn’t actually cut enemies; instead, it runs over them and kills them, which is quite a strange decision considering how explicit the game is in every other aspect. This is a great way to restart the entire game.
