The 2024 biographical film follows the story of President Donald Trump as a real estate agent back in the day and his relationship with attorney Roy Cohn, played by Jeremy Strong. However, before he even had the chance to step into Donald Trump’s shoes, he was advised not to go ahead with the opportunity. Luckily, Sebastian Stan knew what he was doing.

In his words,“Not just because of the complexities of playing Trump, but because of the reaction it provokes.”Then there was the fact that the film was coming out during a very crucial moment – the election year. People told him not to go ahead with the film for a variety of reasons but as far as he’s concerned, he doesn’t want to stay inside his comfort zone.
I had people telling me not to do it. They said it might alienate people, that I didn’t look like him, that it was too dangerous. But for me, acting is about going toward the uncomfortable… about trying to understand humanity, even in the darkest places.

Stan went ahead with the film anyway and was heavily praised for his performance at the end of the day. He was also nominated at the82ndGolden Globe Awardsfor the role.
