Sandra Bullock is one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood, and any movie with her name included in its cast can be blindly considered a hit. Well… let’s say not all of them. Either way, Bullock has racked up millions over the years acting in projects likeBird Box,The Blind Side,Miss Congeniality, and many more.

Despite living at the peak of the mountain of success, Bullock’s run has had a couple of nasty bumps that nearly took her out of the game. Having spent over 30 years in the industry, theGravityactress was bound to star in a couple of movies that didn’t find much success among fans or critics and there is one film she absolutely regrets saying yes to.
Sandra Bullock regrets doing Speed 2: Cruise Control
This is one movie that never really made sense, especially because of the storyline thatSpeed(1994) followed. The initial movie which starredKeanu Reevesand Sandra Bullock as the leads only had a budget of $30 million, but it ended up grossing just over$350 millionat the global box office.
Reeves chose to opt out of starring inSpeed 2: Cruise Control, which in hindsight was a great choice. During an interview onJimmy Kimmel Live, the action star revealed that he wasn’t a big fan of the script, which is why he chose not to join Bullock in the sequel (viaEntertainment Weekly).

Sandra Bullock: ‘He was also keeping my integrity’ on Keanu Reeves When Things Went Freaky Because of Cameras in Speed
If Reeves knew it wasn’t a good story, why did the Oscar-winning actress do it anyway? She doesn’t really know either. In aninterviewwithTooFab, she said,
I have one no one came around to and I’m still embarrassed I was in. It’s called ‘Speed 2.’ I’ve been very vocal about it. Makes no sense. Slow boat. Slowly going towards an island.

When Reeves rejected Jan de Bont’s offer, the director and his team eventually castJason Patricas Bullock’s on-screen love interest replacement. Things simply didn’t work out as they had hoped and their chemistry wasn’t as great as what Bullock shared with Reeves.
Even today, people stand by the fact thatSpeed 2: Cruise Controlwas genuinely a tragedy. But was this actually Bullock’s worst film? Well, not really.

Sandra Bullock’s debut film is as good as forgotten
Unlike its pilot film,Speed 2: Cruise Controlstruggled to meet the expectations set by fans of theSandra Bullockand Keanu Reeves dynamic. The 1997 release only grossed$164 millionworldwide, barely crossing its budget by $4 million.
During its opening,Speed 2only earned around $16 million whichSlash Filmstates could’ve been influenced by Con Air’s successful release a week prior. But there’s one film that the 60-year-old bombshell might want her fans to completely forget about. It’s her debut film,Hangmen.

Forget Karate Kid, Jackie Chan Should Consider This Sandra Bullock Movie Sequel That He Turned Down 31 Years Ago
The movie happened to star Jake LaMotta, a former middleweight boxing champion whose story inspired Martin Scorsese’s blockbusterRaging Bull(1980). While Scorsese’s film received an impressive92% ratingon the Tomatometer, LaMotta’s project with Bullock only attracted a5% rating.
Hangmen, which was released in 1987, simply bombed because it featured a terrible script, horrendous camera angles, poor audio, and underwhelming acting (based onreviews on IMDb). This movie would probably make Bullock regret doing Speed 2 a little less.
Hangmen(1987) can be streamed on Plex.
