The Marvel Cinematic Universe is not just a franchise full of superheroes and villains and their antics, it is on a deeper level, no less than art. Each character is skillfully crafted and adapted to make it the most honest adaptation of their original comic book counterpart, and so was the case with Scarlet Witch.

One of the most intriguing and powerful characters in the Marvel Universe, Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda, had an evil character arc in the filmDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. And once fans see the original concept art of the film, they will be left shocked to their core.
Original concept art for Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlett Witch inMultiverse of Madness
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnesstookElizabeth’s Olsen‘s Scarlet Witch closer to her comic book counterpart, by transcending her character into a villain. Struck with grief and driven by emotional turmoil, even the character’s looks changed to match her villainous transformation.

While her appearance does make her look formidable and more mature than when she made her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the original concept art was a far cry from what was adopted. The original concept art showed Wanda as Scarlet Witch with a crown that appears to be fused with her skin. Not only is it attached to her skin, but it also contains spikes, making her look more powerful than her final look.
A darker, gothic, and horror take on the character,Sam Raimi‘s original version represented Wanda’s transformation into a more sinister being, taken over by the Darkhold. However, for reasons unknown, Marvel decided not to adapt the look, instead going for a very toned-down version.

Fans react to the OG look of Scarlett Witch from Sam Raimi’sMultiverse of Madness
Sam Raimi’sDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesswas not an average superhero film but a darker take onto the MCU. And Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlett Witch transformation was integral to the film’s exploration of power and the multiverse. The horror-driven story showcased Wanda as a tragic, heartbroken figure while also being a terrifying antagonist.

So when it comes to her look for the film, the OG look seems to be better suited for the character. And this is what several Marvel fans seem to think as well.
It would’ve scared the crap out of me for sure

This would’ve been cool ngl, would’ve shown her corruption a bit better
What the hell sam Raimi should’ve kept his vision that’s wild

damnn, sam raimi should have kept this. ngl this slaps hard
Unfortunately, the concept art showcasing Scarlet Witch with a crown infused to her skin never made it to the big screen, even though it would have made her appearance more in line with her character development in the movie. While fans adored the design, ultimately the film seemed to have opted for a balanced look that preserved Wanda’s humanity and Scarlett Witch’s descent into madness.
