And now, with the ongoing presidential elections in the United States, the actor has once again criticized Trump as well as his supporters. In a recent interview, De Niro voiced his concerns on the possibility of former U.S. President Trump being re-elected.

The actor also mentioned that if it indeed happened, Trump would not willingly relinquish his powers. When the host asked him if Trump would ever voluntarily step down, De Niro responded:

TheGodfatheractor also had a clash with Trump supporters outside his hush money trial earlier this year. After this, the conversation between the host and De Niro shifted towards the broader political horizon. He emphasized the significance of having leaders who are more sensitive to the needs of the country.

But out of the lot, their most cherished movie would definitely be 1976’sTaxi Driver. On the same topic, the filmmaker revealed an interesting tidbit about De Niro’s most famous line from the movie. In the said scene, De Niro, portraying Travis Bickle, imagines a scenario where he’d have to threaten someone with a gun. He then says,“You talkin’ to me?”

While looking at himself in the mirror, he repeats again.“You talkin’ to me? Well, I’m the only one here.”This particular dialogue of De Niro became quite famous but had an entirely different story of its own. He also added that given they were running behind schedule, the producers urged the actor to move on from the scene. But he was adamant to capture the full essence of the shot, and in doing so even Scorsese helped him with his guidance.
