The primary way to progress in the game is by collecting Artifacts, items that can be equipped before starting any run, completely changing the nature of the run. The Artifact of Command is perhaps the most useful item in the entire game, allowing players to pick which items they get from every chest they unlock during a run.

How To Unlock Artifact Of Command
The Artifact of Command can be found in a hidden area on the fourth-level map, the Hive Cluster (Variant #1).The fourth level can either be the Magma Barracks or the Hive Cluster, and the Hive Cluster itself has two variants. The Artifact of Command can only be obtained on Variant #1 of the Hive Cluster.
To know whether or not your version of the Hive Cluster is the one with the Artifact, navigate to thetop right corner of the map. If you seepink vines that phase in and out of vision, you’re on the right map.
To reach the Artifact, jump and climb the vines toget to the platform on the top right. There is no need to time your jumps; invisible vines can still be climbed. Just keep climbing until you get to the platform. The Artifact of Command is right ahead.
What Does Artifact Of Command Do?
The Artifact allows players to choose which items they get from any chest in the game.Unlike a regular run, when you unlock a chest in a run with the Artifact of Command equipped, you’ll be shown the complete list of possible items that you can get from that chest. Click on the one you like, and it will drop.
The rarity of the chest decides which tier of items you getfrom that chest.Item chests only drop itemsandequipment chests only drop equipment. Many items are also locked until you complete the achievement to unlock them, further limiting your options.
The Artifact alsopauses the gamewhen you’re on the item selection screen, allowing you to really think about your build, even in the middle of combat. On top of being able to optimize your builds in each run, you’ll also be able to complete some of the moredifficult achievementsandcharacter unlockswith Command in your loadout.The Chef, for example, requires obtaining Meat Nugget, Bustling Fungus, Sprouting Egg, Bitter Root, and Foreign Fruit Items in a single run. A difficult challenge that is made much simpler when the Artifact of Command is added to the mix.
