Earlier this month, Capcomannounced that it had fallen prey to a hacking attemptwhich left the company without the use of some internal networks for a bit on November 2. As a result of this move, new information about the company has now started to trickle onto the Internet. While much of this info is related to business dealings and personal details of those who work at the publisher (which is really messed up) some other specifics related to upcoming titles has also come about.

Likely the most notable piece of information in theleakpurports that Capcom internally is planning to releaseResident Evil Villagein April of next year. For now, the game merely has a placeholder launch window of 2021 with Capcom not giving any more guidance on the specific season in which the title might drop. Considering newREgames typically drop in the early portion of each year most of the time, this potential launch window tracks with what we’ve come to expect.

That said, while this leak seems pretty credible, it’s important to note that this launch window forResident Evil Villagecould still easily change. Even if Capcom was aiming for an April 2021 release date forResident Evil Village, the fact that such a window hadn’t yet been divulged to the public means that things could have still moved around. Plus, this information is now seemingly two weeks old at this point, and while that might not seem like a long time, things can change quickly in the games industry.

Some other quick mentionables related toRE Villagefrom the leak also suggests that the game will have a demo that will be released before the final product. Again, considering Capcom has also done this in the past with otherResident Evilgames, it’s not a shock to see this trend continue. Additionally, cross-gen releases for PS4 and Xbox One are also planned to occur, as previous leaks indicated.

For now, all we know is thatResident Evil Villageis set to arrive next year on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. If it is set to actually launch in April 2021, though, you’d imagine we’ll hear something official from Capcom very soon.
