From the birth of the earth to the modern day, warriors such as Adam and Zeus fought for their lives in different battles. Each battle is more strenuous than the last; however, only two of the warriors below have given us the best fight within the world of Record of Ragnarok. class=“emaki-custom note”>This list only features fights from the anime and does not consider any event from the manga.
6Buddha VS. Loki
While not declared as an official fight in the anime, Loki and Buddha are seen taunting each other in season two. At the time, Loki believes that Buddha has been tampering with the results of each official fight. Loki goes out of his way to find him, beginning to explain that each human in the rink should not have been as strong as they were when fighting against the gods. Buddha makes an effort to ignore him until a fight is provoked.
Loki gets in his face, accusing him of betrayal, and Buddha neither accepts nor denies the accusation. Kojiro, the winner of the fight between him and Poseidon, comes to Buddha’s defense at the beginning. Though this is after seeing that Loki himself was backed up by the Seven Lucky Gods. Soji Okita and Isami Kondo join them, provoking a skirmish until both Odin and Zeus appear. Because this fight was simply set up as a disagreement and nothing more, it is seated at last on the list of fights in this anime.

5Lü Bu VS. Thor
During the first fight against gods against humanity, Lu Bu was chosen to represent mortality. The gods' champion was none other than Thor, the god of thunder. Despite the ridiculous strength that the god possessed, Lu Bu was able to take the full force of his power. The human champion was even able to stop Thor’s hammer, giving humanity hope as they watched the fight. However, as the battle progressed, Lu Bu’s power was taken over by Thor, earning the gods their first win in the rink.
Even though the gods prevailed in the first battle, Lu Bu’s backstory provided mass inspiration through the crowd. In life, Lu Bu was unable to enjoy himself in battle because of his power. He had never met a man with greater strength than him until he had fought Thor. The two competitors quickly understood that, for once in their lives, they were fighting an equal opponent. This created a quick friendship between them, even though Lu Bu died in the process. The official battle still sits at fifth place, only because of the emotional impact of the fights below.

4Jack The Ripper VS. Hercules
The battle between Jack the Ripper and Hercules was both emotional and gut-wrenching in different ways. Through each character’s backstory, the audience was prompted to bond with them. While Jack the Ripper and Hercules came from different backgrounds, they were able to understand each other in the end. The battle finished with Jack the Ripper deceiving his opponent, and as the much-loved god perished, he stated his wish for humanity to defeat the gods.

While this fight was packed with information and fighting styles, the reason why it sits in fourth place is because of how drawn out the battle was. Initially, the fight itself seemed to be paced well; however, it continued to take up five episodes of viewing time. Within the animation of Jack the Ripper and Hercules’s duel, the basis of their personalities, fighting styles, and understanding of each other could have been animated much faster.
3Shiva VS. Raiden
This emotional fight scene battle between Shiva and Raiden was also filled with joy. Both characters, throughout the whole fight, pushed themselves to their max. However, Shiva ultimately overpowered Raiden to win the battle, using a kick that destroyed Raiden’s right arm. This fight sits in the middle of the list because it was both emotional and packed with entertainment. Though, the next battles on the list provide the audience with more intense scenes.
Shiva and Raiden’s backstories were both packed with power. This means that each of them was unstoppable in their lifetime. This made for an interesting power dynamic, which led the humans and gods to the edge of their seats. From the beginning of the battle, the audience was left with an unstable vision of the end. Both characters were kind and strong; it is only unfortunate that humanity was unable to prevail in the end.

2Adam VS. Zeus
While this show is filled withincredibly strong characters, Zeus and Adam are believed to be the strongest. Zeus is seen in the anime as a fun-loving and carefree character. While he’s on the battlefield, he mimics this personality until he is shown how well Adam can fight. Adam, the first human created, claims to fight for humanity because he is their father. This, in turn, inspires the humans watching and touches their hearts, giving them hope and motivation for the round.

Because this battle was second to Lu Bu and Thor, humanity’s spirits were lowered until Adam was seen fist-fighting with Zeus. The human battered the god until he was almost dying, raising his fist in victory after the old man had fallen. However, because Adam had died during the process of the battle, the fight was ultimately won by Zeus. Although this fight had heart and emotion, the ending, which crushed many viewers watching, seemed unsatisfactory.
1Kojiro VS. Poseidon
By far, the most confusing battle of them all was the fight between Kojiro and Poseidon. Because humanity had lost the two rounds before Kojiros, they held no hope for the character to win. This was because the character himself had never once won a battle. Kojiro was weak as a young boy and continued to make himself stronger throughout his life by losing to every opponent he battled. However, his friends in the stands were the ones that supported him. Ultimately, Kojiro was able to defeat Poseidon, causing the gods in the stands to watch in shock as the god perished in the battle.
This battle stands alone in emotional value because it was the first step for humanity toward hope. The action and desperation that the animation created for the viewers were beautiful. Overall, seeing Kojiro, a well-mannered and well-loved character, defeat such an arrogant god was satisfactory beyond belief.
