Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocketplayers have received some free items as an apology for the disastrous launch and implementation of the game’s trade mechanic, which fans have blasted since launch.
Considering the fact that “Trading” is in the game’s name, it was natural thatPokemon TCG Pocketwould give players the ability to trade their cards at some point. Unfortunately, this is bad from a business sense, as if players can freely swap cards, then there is less incentive to pull cards, as well aspaying for extra packs.

To this end, whenthe Trade mechaniclaunched just before the Space-Time Showdown expansion, it was a nightmare to use. Not only are players restricted to swapping cards with friends, but they must spend Trade Tokens and Stamina to make the transaction go through. There are also strict limits on cards that can be moved, based on rarity and set.

The developers of Pokemon TCG Pocket have previously stated that they’re working onupdating the Trade mechanic. This has started with a giveaway, as the game’s official Twitter/X account announced that all players have received free Trade Tokens as recompense.

The 1000 Trade Tokens are useful, but they’re a drop in the bucket for resolving the problems with Pokemon TCG Pocket. The Trading feature is currently a mess and the free Trade Tokens just mean it will be a little easier to engage with its frustrating systems. The gesture is appreciated, but a lot of work still needs to be done.
