An endearing story full of lovely yet complex characters, beautiful and well-made locations, and top-tier Fakemons with many references to real life and impressive criticism about the colonial era.
10 Non-Legendary Pokemon With The Highest Defense Stat
If you’re looking for Pokemon with impressive Defense stats, this list can point you in the right direction!
Pokémon Opalo is a game made with love, a fact you’ll notice almost immediately. It is also a game made to be challenging while still enjoyable; some of the battles you might encounter here will make you sweat even if you feel prepared.

But don’t fret, lovely Pokéfans, as this guide’s aim is to help you hit the ground running in this game. Let’s get started.
Pokemon Opalo is a fan game createdby a Spanish-speaker creator, EricLostie, so naturally, this game is in his native language,Spanish.Nonetheless, there’s access to atranslated versionmade byRaizen, a Pokefan dedicated to translating games from other languages to English.

To download this version, you must head to Raizen’s channel. you’re able to do ithere. Go to thedescription of the video, then pick your preferred download platform anddownload the game. You’ll get aZIP fileyou only need to extract. To open the game, you just need toopen the main folder and then click on Game.exe. You can also create a shortcut if you want to.
Which Starter Is The Best In Pokemon Opalo?
Let’s start our adventure through Céfira. The game’s opening is pretty linear; you’ll choose your character, meetProfessor Ebano(at least via TV), and then you’llhead to the Pokemon Shelterafter receiving a letter from your childhood friend,Apolo, asking you to do so.
Here, you’ll choose your starter. You havethree options:
These three options are excellent; none of these three will let you down! The first few Gyms aren’t going to really make any of these Pokémon feel like a bad choice, asyou have access to a lot of great Pokémonfrom the get-go, so in this case,it’ll depend on your priorities.
If you want afast attacker, go with Swolphin. If you prefer awallPokémon, Snampery is a must. If you want aspecial sweeper, Flasinge is great.

The only thing you might take into account is thatit is easier to find Grass and Fire-typesrather than Water-types at the earliest stages of the game.
First Gym Battle Against Mundánez
This is Mundánez’s team:
Cefiran Meowth
Pickup or Unnerve
Céfiran Meowth’s typewill depend on your starter:
- Picking Snampery: Normal/Fire
- Picking Flasinge: Normal/Ice
- Picking Swolphin: Normal/Electric
It’s important to know this as Mundánezwill be one of your rivalsduring your adventure.
The quickest way to defeat Mundánez is by usinga Fighting-type Pokemon. You can quickly get one bycatching a Mareepat Route 2, then going back to thePokemon School at Jaloque Cityand trading it with a studentfor a Machop. This Machop is pretty useful in the early game so it’s strongly recommended to have it on your team.

Machop will haveLow Kick, which is pretty usefulagainst Lickitung, as it’s a considerably heavy Pokemon. Slakoth and the Céfiran Meowth are more a pest than a problem and can be easily defeated by any other Pokemon.
Second Gym Battle Against Acacia
After a small adventure deep in the Dusty Steppe fighting Team Gatling and through Poniente and Siroco Town,it’s time to face Acaciato claim your second Gym Badge. This is her team:
Ice/Ground
Oblivious or Snow Cloak
Cefiran Tangela
Ground/Grass
Mudbraycan be a problem if you let it stack Defense buffs with its ability,Stamina. Start the battle with aGrass or Water-typeso you’re able to get rid of it quickly. TheCefiran Tangelais not a big issue, as you can take it down withFire or Flying-type moves. If you happen to have Swolphin with Ice Shard, which can learn it pretty soon into the game, use it against this Pokémon.
Piloswine can be swept by aFighting-type Pokemon, like the Machop you can get back at Jaloque City.

Third Gym Battle Against Biel
Biel is the Gym leader ofAustral City, the metropolis of the Cefira region. This is her team:
White Smoke
Cefiran Golurk
Fire/Steel
Water Absorb
More than a Steel-Type-based Gym Leader,Biel is a steampunk lover, hence why her team has bothSteel and Fire-typePokemon.
Her most interesting Pokemon areTorkoal and Golurk. You can’t decrease Torkoal’s stats thanks to its ability,White Smoke, so don’t try it. Just go ahead withWater or Ground-type moves. UsingSpecial movesagainst Torkoal will make things easier.
TheCéfiran Golurkis a beast.Water Absorbprotects it from its major weakness, Water-types. Nonetheless, his moveset is rather weak, so you can go ahead withGround or Fighting-typesto take it down. This battle is the main reason why aFighting-typePokemonis vital in this game.
Fourth Gym Battle Against Romero
Your next destination isOrvallo Town, home of fishermen. Here’s where you’ll find Romero, theWater-typeGym Leader of the place. This is his team:
Water/Flying
Keen Eye or Big Pecks
Water/Rock
Strong Jaw
Water Bubble
Cefiran Abomasnow
Water/Grass
Poison Heal (Equipped With a Toxic Orb)
WhileGrassmight be a good type to use here, all of Romero’s Pokemonare prepared to counter their Grass-type weakness with several tools. For example, Dreadnaw has a berry thatdecreases the effectivityof Grass-type moves, while Swanna and Araquanid cover their weaknesseswith Flying and Bug-type moves, respectively. Then, it’s a good idea tohave an Electric-type Pokemonto deal with all of these.
TheCefiran Abomasnowcan be tricky to take down. Ironically enough, because of its ability-item setup, it isweak to Poison-type moves, so that’s a way to take it down. You can find a good Poison-type attacker inRoselia/Roseradein the first few routes.
Fifth Gym Battle Against Silene
Silene is theGhost-typeGym Leader ofCalígine Cityand such an enigmatic character. This is her team:
Ghost/Flying
Chandelure
Ghost/Fire
Flash Fire
Ghost/Fairy
Cefiran Froslass
Ground/Ghost
Shadow Tag
Ghost-typesare a great option here, but they aresomewhat hard to find. The only reliable one isGastly, which can be found near Orvallo Town, at the abandoned settlement west of the previous route. Alternatively, focusing on the secondary types of Silene’s Pokemon is a great option.Dark-typesare great here too.
Drifblimcan be taken down withElectric-type moves,Chandelurecan’t standGround-type moves, andMimikyu, as soon as you break its disguise, can be easily defeated withSteel-type movesor with any other strong physical move.
TheCefiran Froslassis more problematic thanks to itsShadow Tag, which won’t let you switch your Pokemon, so choose the Pokemon you might want to use against Frosless wisely. This Froslass has Confuse Ray, a Ghost-type move, Earth Power, and Destiny Bond. Go ahead withDark-type moveslike Bite, and you’ll defeat it.
Sixth Gym Battle Against Dalio
After leaving Calígine City and exploring the Poisonous Swamp, you’ll arrive atGalerna City, which is quite literally ruled byDalio. After a short and rather fun event underwater, you’ll have a Gym battle against hisElectric-typeteam:
Galvantula
Electric/Bug
Compound Eyes
Toxtricity
Electric/Poison
Soundproof
Electric/Steel
Electric/Water
Volt Absorb or Illuminate
Cefiran Altaria
Electric/Dragon
AGround-type Pokemonwill be highly appreciated in this battle.Toxtricity, Magnezone, and the Cefiran Altariacan’t do much against the likes of Mudsdale, Golem, or any other Ground-type of your choice.
Galvantula and Lanturnshow a more interesting challenge, as Galvantula ispretty quick, and Lanturn isextremely chunkyand hard to take down.
For the former,Fire-typesmust be enough, while the latter has Ice Beam to cover its Grass and Ground-type weakness. The best option in that case is to get it down with a neutral Pokemon ortry to sleep or poison it.
10 Non-Legendary Pokemon With The Highest Special Attack Stat
A Pokemon’s Special Attack stat can greatly affect the damage dealt by special moves. These are the Pokemon with the highest Special Attack!
Seventh Gym Battle Against Peonía
As you unravel the mystery of your hallucinations, trap Winchester, and free the Astral Tower from Team Gatling, the next stepis to face Peonía and her clone. This one is adouble battle, so sort your team accordingly.
Psychic/Flying
Wonder Skin
Psychic/Ground
Psychic/Fairy
Synchronize
Cefiran Hariyama
Psychic/Fighting
Thick Fat or White Smoke
The key to winning this battleis to go out full force against both Peonías.If your strategy is to decrease their defense or change your target’s status with poison or paralysis, you’ll have a bad timeas Sigilyph, Hariyama, and Gardevoir have abilitiesto prevent getting affected by it.
Set anElectric and a Water or Grass-type(not so recommended as Water) Pokémonas your leads, so you get an advantage from the beginning of the battle. If said Pokémon also haveDark-type moves(like Crunch, Night Slash, or Knock Off), things will be easier.
Céfiran Hariyamais easy to take down withPoison, Ghost, Fairy, or Flying-type moves. It has a new move namedPipe of Peace, which is aSpecial Psychic-type move. Poison-type moves againstGardevoiralso work well.
Derringer At Mt. Boreal
Shortly after leaving Tempest City, things get complicated as you get inside Team Gatling’s HQ and discover that the government and Team Gatling have a long-running alliance and President Mustang is a dirty, corrupt guy.
But things are better now, and you musthead to Mt. Boreal to find Astrem, the legendary Pokémon you were looking for. You are not alone here, asDerringerhas exactly the same objective and won’t hesitate to hurt you to get there first.
This is his team:
Dragon/Poison
Poison Point
Swarm or Hustle
Grimmsnarl
Fairy/Dark
Ground/Flying
Hyper Cutter
Cefiran Glalie
Intimidate
Water/Dark
Derringer’s lead is Dragalge, so you muststart with an Ice or Psychic-type user.If it’s not weak to Electric-type moves, it’ll be good, as it hasThunderbolt. From there,Grimmsnarl, Gliscor, and Greninjamight be the most problematic ones on Derringer’s team.
Grimmsnarl, a very strong Fairy-type, can be taken down withSteel, Poison, or Fairy-type moves; it’s better if youtake it down quicklyas it has Bulk Up and can be a serious problem. Gliscor is easy to take down withIce-type moves, but if you don’t have access to them,Water is a reliable option. Greninja is a great attacker, but it’s rather weak defensively.Fighting and Ground-type movesare efficient against it.
Last Gym Battle Against Brezo
As you get to the top of Mt. Boreal, and you get a bit of a taste of what’s coming up in the post-game, you’ll get back toCencellada City. It’s time to claim your last badge, this time against Brezo, anIce-type Gym Leader. This is his team:
Snow Warning
Snow Cloak
Ice/Fighting
Overall,Fire, Fighting, and Steel-type moves will do great against Brezo.Walrein and Mamoswine are his strongest Pokémon. Walrein is vulnerable againstElectric-typemoves, and his moveset is rather weak. He’ll attempt to land a Sheer Cold on you constantly, which will instantly KO your Pokémon, but it has poor precision.
Mamoswine, on the other hand, is more competitively capable. It’s better to attack it withWater or Fighting-type movesrather than Grass or Steel-types as it hasEarthquake and Stone Edgeto cover.
Pokemon League
Congrats! You’ve made it to this point, and it hasn’t been easy. Now, the last effort: the Pokémon League.
It is composed ofthree phases; the first one will be against your rivals, the second one will be againstthree random Gym Leaders, and the last one will be against the Champion, who is none other thanProfessor Ebano!
As this league has a ton of battles, we are going to show youall the teams you might battle againstand then offer you some tips to face them properly. You have already seen most of them during the game, sothere won’t be any surprises.
First Round
Team (Level)
Lead your battle with a Water or Fighting-type Pokemon. Go with Electric-type moves against Xatu.
Vermillion
Snorlax, one of the best Normal-types in the game, has Thunder and Fire Punch. Gyarados has Earthquake; opt for Ice-types to avoid extra damage. Avoid Flying-types against Poliwrath; it has Ice Punch.
Use Fighting-types against Copperajah. Lickilicky has Explosion.
Second Round
Fighting-types will be highly appreciated here.
attempt to take Mudsdale down as soon as possible. Special Water or Grass moves can do the job.
Fire-types are good here, but be careful with Aggron’s Earthquake. Use Earthquake against Golurk.
Use Poison-types against Mossfoot. Try to take Swanna down quickly with Electric-type moves.
Zippectre is only Ghost-type. can’t do much against Dark-types.
Dalio’s strategy is exactly the same as the one you faced at his Gym.
Alakazam and Gardevoir have Dazzling Gleam. Bug-types can be a good option here. Sigilyph will focus on increasing its defenses and healing with Roost. Go full force against it.
This is a pretty similar team to what you saw last time against Brezo. Use the same strategy, and you’ll be fine.
Professor Ebano
This is Ebano’s team:
Mega Steelix
Steel/Ground
Sheer Force
Dark/Fighting
Moxie or Rough Skin
Bouffalant
Sap Sipper or Reckless
Flying/Dark
Big Pecks or Overcoat
Mold Breaker or Rivalry
Krookodile
Ground/Dark
Ebano has somewhatof a Dark-type-based team, soBug, Fighting, and Fairy-typescan do a lot against him.
Steelix will try to setStealth Rockson the field, which will inflict damage on your Pokemon upon entering the field; set anIce or Fighting-type as your leadand take it down as soon as possible.
Bouffalanthits very hard withHead Charge; a good tactic can be using aGhost-type Pokemonagainst it. You can also go with the good ol’Fighting-typeagainst it, but be careful with itsMega Horn.Mandibuzzis atanky Pokemonthat will try to set a Toxic on your Pokemon. It also has Protect and Roost to heal.
Other than that, anElectric-type movecan be more than enough to take it down.
Lastly,Krookodile. It’ll try to useWork Up to get its Attack upin the first turn, so hit it hardas soon as you can.Fighting, Water, or Grass-typescan do a lot against it.

Classic Pokemon, but way, WAY tougher!
