Mega Aggron is the latest Mega Pokemon to join the game’s Raid lineup. While this Pokemon was featured in Raid battles once before, its reintroduction will give players a chance to catch stronger versions, hunt for shiny forms, or try to get a perfect IV Pokemon!

Best Counters For Mega Aggron
Mega Aggron is a Steel-type Pokemon, so players will want to bring a team into the battle that is able toexploit its type weaknesses. For Mega Aggron, these are Fighting, Ground, and Fire-type attacks, which will all deal 160% of their normal damage. The first table below shows the best Mega Pokemon to bring into the Raid battle. There are only three options listed because players can only have one Mega Pokemon active at a time. Using a Mega Pokemon isn’t required but it will make the fight much easier and players should Mega Evolve on of the Pokemon below if they can.

Can Mega Aggron Be Shiny?
When players successfully take down a Mega Aggron in a Raid battle, they will be given a catch encounter with the Pokemon’s base form. When this encounter takes place,players can find a shiny Aggron! While it is not extremely likely that this happens, Raid battles are one of the easiest and best ways to shiny hunt in Pokemon GO and players have about a 1/20 chance to find one of these dark green Pokemon. Players hoping to get their hands on one of these shiny Pokemon should complete as many Mega Aggron Raids as possible while it is around in Raid battles!
How To Catch A Perfect IV Mega Aggron
Players can identify the IV of an Aggron by taking a look at its CP value when on the catch screen. If the weather is Snowy (a Steel-type Pokemon’s weather boost), the perfect IV Aggron will have a 2143 CP. If there is any other weather type at the time of the Raid, the max CP, and perfect IV, Aggron will be 1714!
A perfect IV Aggron will have a1714 CP, and a perfect weather-boosted Aggron will have a2143 CP.
